Il ΚΟΙΝΩΝΩ Tinos Art Gathering ha scelto i quattro elementi naturali (terra, acqua, aria, fuoco) – più uno, l’elemento del tempo – per veicolare una proposta tematica che tenta di integrare il paesaggio stesso nella nostra percezione di spazio, tempo, epoche, materia, energia, natura e tradizione con le loro varie manifestazioni sociali. Per l’attuazione del ciclo tematico annuale, Κοινωνώ indice un bando per presentare proposte/progetti col focus su uno dei quattro elementi – Fuoco, Acqua, Aria, Terra – per le posizioni corrispondenti dell’isola di Tinos.
I partecipanti possono appartenere a qualsiasi ambito della ricerca artistica o scientifica e il progetto è aperto a tutte le età e campi, nonché a istituzioni o organizzazioni dalla Grecia e dall’estero.
L’obiettivo del tema è esplorare le relazioni tra la moderna pratica interdisciplinare di ricerca nelle belle arti, nelle discipline umanistiche e nei nuovi mezzi di espressione col luogo e il tempo negli ambienti “materiali” dell’isola. Questi ambienti sono vari: costruiti e naturali, interni ed esterni, urbani e rurali, materiali e immateriali, e comprendono un complesso di monumenti e siti rurali – naturali, edifici e percorsi storici.
Gli organizzatori invitano i partecipanti a soggiornare sull’isola per un periodo di tre settimane (dal 26 settembre al 18 ottobre 2020), lavorando con la materia naturale, riflettendo sulle attuali questioni ecologiche, sociali, culturali e locali, stabilendo delle comunità collaborative per creare opere originali in site specific, lavori collettivi, teorici o tangibili in un ambiente non urbano.
Ai partecipanti viene offerto:
- costi del trasporto ad un numero limitato di partecipanti (dentro e fuori Europa).
- copertura del trasporto dall’isola di Tinos a tutti i siti di residenza.
- alloggio (stanze e hotel)
- pranzo e cena in comune
- copertura parziale della produzione e del costo dei materiali.

ΚΟΙΝΩΝΩ Tinos Art Gathering Open Call for ‘Four (Plus One) Elements’ Residency (Greece)
ΚΟΙΝΩΝΩ Tinos Art Gathering borrows the four elements (earth, water, air, fire) – plus one, the element of time – to introduce a thematic proposal that attempts to integrate the landscape itself into our perception of space, time, eras, matter, energy, nature, tradition and their various social manifestations.
For the implementation of the annual thematic cycle, Κοινωνώ addresses an open call for proposals / projects on one of the four elements – Fire, Water, Air, Earth – and for corresponding locations of the island of Tinos.
Participants can belong to any branch of the artistic – scientific – research spectrum, and the project is open to all ages and fields, as well as institutions or organisations from Greece and abroad.
The aim of the theme is to explore the relationships between the modern interdisciplinary practice of fine arts and research, humanities and new means of expression and place and time in the ‘material’ environments of the island. These environments are varied: built and natural, indoor and outdoor, urban and rural, material and intangible, and include a complex of rural – natural monuments and sites, historic buildings and paths.
The organisers invite participants to stay on the island for a period of three weeks (26 September – 18 October 2020), to work with natural matter, to reflect on current ecological, social, cultural and local issues, to establish collaborative communities, and to create original site-specific, collective, theoretical and tangible work in a non-urban environment.
Participants are offered:
- Transport costs for a limited number of participants (in and out of the EU).
- Transport to the island of Tinos and all residency sites.
- Accommodation (rooms and hostels).
- Common lunches/dinners, food supplies.
- Partial production and material costs.
