Azkuna Zentroa invita a prendere parte alla performance Corbeaux (Corvi) del coreografo marocchino Bouchra Ouizguen, che si svolgerà dal 30 maggio al 3 giugno 2018 nell’ambito di Prototipoak, un evento internazionale di New Performing Arts.
Corbeaux è un’esperienza molto intensa che si svolge al di fuori dello spazio teatrale tradizionale. I personaggi, vestiti di nero, emergono dall’oscurità e, come gli uccelli, avanzano danzando ad un ritmo ipnotico. Il pezzo fu originariamente creato nel 2014 per la Biennale di Arte Contemporanea di Marrakech, con diciotto ballerini della Compagnie O. In tutti i luoghi nei diversi paesi in cui è stato eseguito lo spettacolo, Bouchra Ouizguen ha cercato di includere artisti locali donne che, a fianco ai ballerini della compagnia, rappresentano un’orda di corvi singolari ed improbabili. Ora l’esperienza Corbeaux (Crows) arriva a Bilbao come parte di Prototipoak.
Chiamata a partecipare
Si cercano 10 donne, amatori o professioniste, di età compresa tra 18 e 45 anni che prendano parte a Corbeaux (Crows) che sarà parte di Prototipoak International New Performing Arts Event. A causa dei requisiti fisici della performance, che può essere pesante per il collo, non è raccomandata a persone con problemi di respirazione così come chi soffre di asma, cervicale o vertigini.
Selezione: le 10 partecipanti saranno scelte ad uno dei workshop (a cui bisogna iscriversi preventivamente) diretti da Bouchra Ouizguen. Questi workshop si terranno il 6 marzo 2018 presso Azkuna Zentroa, con sessioni diurne (mattino e pomeriggio). Ogni seminario durerà circa due ore ed è necessario frequentarne uno per essere considerati alla selezione. I workshop sono aperti a tutte le donne che si iscrivono e sono gratuiti.
Iscrizione
Workshop/Audizione: Durante questo incontro e contatto iniziale sarete in grado di esplorare il processo creativo di Bouchra relativo a Corbeaux (Crows) e familiarizzare con parte del pezzo. Alla fine del workshop, 10 donne saranno invitate a spingersi oltre come parte del cast di Corbeaux (Crows).
La performance pubblica
Corbeaux (Crows) è un’avventura umana al servizio di un progetto artistico, un interscambio ritmico e una simbiosi col gruppo che richiede impegno da parte di chi ne prende parte. Sulla base di questo impegno le partecipanti alla performance verranno retribuite secondo l’accordo collettivo di settore. Le donne selezionate saranno pagate € 400 nette.
Prove:
Le 10 donne scelte si integreranno agli altri componenti della compagnia per le prove di preparazione del pezzo. Ci saranno 4 prove della durata approssimativa di 2 ore e mezzo ciascuna nei giorni che precedono la performance pubblica Corbeaux (Crows) che si terrà il 30 maggio e 1-2 giugno.

Azkuna Zentroa invites you to take part in the performance of Corbeaux (Crows) by the Moroccan choreographer, Bouchra Ouizguen, which will take place from 30 May through 3 June of this year as part of Prototipoak. International New Performing Arts Event.
Description: Corbeaux (Crows) is an immensely intense experience that takes place outside of a traditional theatre space. It is a piece in which the characters, dressed in black, emerge from the darkness and, like birds, move forward dancing to a hypnotic rhythm. The piece was originally created for the (2014) Marrakech Biennale of Contemporary Art, with eighteen dancers from Compagnie O. At all the venues in the different countries where the show has been performed, Bouchra Ouizguen has sought to include local women artists who, along with the company’s own dancers, represent a horde of unique and unlikely crows. Now the Corbeaux (Crows) experience is coming to Bilbao as part of Prototipoak.
Call for participants.
Participant profile: We are looking for 10 amateur or professional women between the ages of 18 and 45 to take part in the piece Corbeaux (Crows), which will take place as part of Prototipoak. International New Performing Arts Event. Because the physical requirements of the performance can be hard on the neck, it is not recommended for people with respiratory problems, such as asthma, neck issues or vertigo. Selection The 10 participants will be selected at one of the workshops (preregistration required) directed by Bouchra Ouizguen. These workshops will be held on 6 March at Azkuna Zentroa, with both morning and afternoon sessions. Each workshop will last approximately 2 hours and you only need to attend one workshop to be eligible for selection. The workshops are open to all women who register for the event, and are free of charge
Registration
Workshop/Audition During this initial contact you will be able to explore Bouchra’s creative process for Corbeaux (Crows) and familiarise yourself with part of the piece. At the end of the workshop, 10 women will be invited to move forward in the process as part of the cast of Corbeaux (Crows).
Public Performances
Corbeaux (Crows) is a human adventure at the service of an art project, a rhythmic interchange and at once a symbiosis with the group that requires a commitment by those who are going to be part of this performance. On the basis of such commitment, the participants in this performance will be compensated as stipulated in the collective agreements for the sector. The women selected will be paid €400 (taxes not included).
Rehearsals
The 10 women who are selected will join the other members of the company for the rehearsals to prepare for the performance. There will be 4 rehearsals lasting approximately 2.5 hours each in the days leading up to the public performances of Corbeaux (Crows).
Public Performance Corbeaux (Crows) will be performed for the public on 30 May, 1 and 2 June.
