Second Hand Dance collabora con danzatori, artisti e pubblico per realizzare spettacoli di danza per tutte le età, stimolanti e ad alto impatto visivo.
La compagnia cerca danzatori per Getting Dressed, la nuova produzione per bambini e famiglie, in cui si approfondisce l’abbigliamento come portatore di movimento e humour: come metterlo e toglierlo, condividerlo, come esprime noi stessi la nostra identità e il nostro sesso.
Per questo spettacolo si cercano 3 performers che abbiano confidenza con la tecnica contemporanea, idee, siano collaborativi e abbiano desiderio di lavorare nell’ambito delle produzioni per ragazzi. La compagnia è particolarmente interessata a performers che siano abili nel partnering o che abbiano esperienza nel parkour/acrobatica.
Vestirsi da soli è una pietra miliare nella crescita e nell’affermazione dei bambini. Sviluppando indipendenza e identità da bambini scegliamo il presente come mondo più ampio. Il lavoro avrà lo scopo di sfidare le convenzioni sottilmente, nonché le pressioni e le influenze della cultura popolare che i bambini incontrano quando inizia la scuola. Obiettivo della compagnia è di essere inclusivi nel casting e si cercano candidature da svariati backgrounds e tipologie fisiche.
L’audizione/workshop si terrà il 19, 20 & 22 settembre 2016 a Londra.

Info sul workshop audizione:
Il Workshop/Audizione sarà tenuto dal direttore artistico di Second Hand, Rosie Heafford, e dal coreografo Erik Kaiel di Arch8. La compagnia chiede che tutti i partecipanti siano disponibili tutti i 3 giorni del workshop audizione.
Il workshop audizione sarà così articolato:
- lunedì 19 settembre 2016: audizione aperta con classe mattutina, tasks di improvvisazione e workshop fisico. Alla fine della giornata verrà fatta una selezione per il re-calls del 20 e 22 settembre 2016.
- martedì 20 settembre e giovedì 22 settembre ci sarà il re-calls per i candidati scelti. Un piccolo stipendio per le spese di viaggio sarà fornito ai candidati richiamati.
Si cercano performer uomini e donne coi seguenti requisiti: eccellente abilità creativa, voglia di lavorare collaborativamente e capaci di generare movimento in fretta; attenzione per il dettaglio e per la precisione nel movimento; confidenza col lavoro di partnering, di prese e desiderosi di sviluppare fisicamente movimento in gruppo; interessati a condurre – interagire con i bambini e il pubblico formato da famiglie. Infine volontà di esplorare il lavoro con gli abiti e discutere su come si possa tradurre i temi quali il genere e identità al pubblico dei ragazzi.

Retribuzione: £450 alla settimana
La creazione e la tournée sono soggette alla conferma del finanziamento previsto da ottobre October 2016.

Second Hand Dance is Seeking Dancers for a New Production
Second Hand Dance collaborates with dancers, artists and the public to make thought provoking, joyful and highly visual dance performances for all ages.
We are currently seeking dancers for a new production, Getting Dressed, for children and families that delves into the movement and humour of clothes. How you put them on, take them off, share them and express yourself, your identity and your gender.
We are looking for 3 performers who are confident in contemporary technique, devising, collaborating and have a desire to work on a family dance production. We are particularly interested in performers who are confident in partner-work and lifting or with parkour/acro- experience.
‘Getting dressed’ by yourself is a huge milestone as a child; developing independence and the identity we choose to present to the wider world. The work will aim to subtly challenge the conventions, peer pressures and popular culture influences children encounter when starting school. We aim to be inclusive in our casting and are actively seeking applications from a diverse range of backgrounds and body types.
Audition workshops will take place on 19, 20 & 22 September in London.

ABOUT THE AUDITION WORKSHOPS
Audition workshops will be run by Second Hand Dance Artistic Director Rosie Heafford and internationally renowned choreographer Erik Kaiel from Arch8. We expect all audtionees to be available for the full 3 day workshop process.
- Monday 19 September – Open Audition with morning class, improvisatory tasks and physical workshop. At the end of the day, selections will be made for re-calls on 20 & 22 Sept.
- Tuesday 20 September & Thursday 22 September – re-calls for selected applicants.
- A small stipend will be able for those re-called towards travel costs.
We are looking for male and female performers with the following qualities:
Excellent devising skills, willing to work collaboratively and quick to generate movement; an eye for detail and refining movement
Confident with partner-work and lifts and excited about developing physically demanding movement as a group
Interested in performing for and interacting with children and family audiences
Willingness to explore working with clothes and discuss how we can translate themes of gender and identity to young audiences.
REHEARSALS & TOURING
- Creation Period: December 2016 – February 2017.
- Touring: February – March 2017
FEES – £450 per week
The Creation and tour period is subject to confirmation of funding, anticipated for October 2016.

Second Hand Dance collaborates with dancers, artists and the public to make thought-provoking, joyful and highly visual dance performances for all ages. The work is often socially-engaged and presented in a range of spaces, from theatres to gardens, creating unique experiences for audiences.
