La Rosie Kay Dance Company RKDC cerca danzatori per apprendere una parte della coreografia di repertorio, 5 SOLDIERS, e da integrare alla compagnia negli spettacoli a New York e a Washington DC a gennaio 2018.

L’audizione si terrà il 10 novembre 2017 a Birmingham, nel Regno Unito, presso DanceXchange, Level 5, Birmingham Hippodrome, Thorp Street.

I danzatori devono avere queste qualità:

• molto veloci a imparare
• buona memoria per il materiale complesso
• capaci di preparasi da soli
• postura austera e look militare* (si prega di leggere le note sotto)
• grande fisicità, corpo tonico e resistenza
• buona abilità attoriale
• essere un buon componente per la compagnia
• possedere un passaporto valido e poter ottenere il Visa per gli USA

* La compagnia accoglie candidature da persone che pensano di non avere l’aspetto di un militare dell’esercito britannico, o che credono che non potrebbero mai  far parte di uno spettacolo che rappresenta l’esercito. Attraverso questa produzione la compagnia sta rompendo tanti stereotipi ed è molto orgogliosa di questo, tant’è che l’Esercito li sta sostenendo. La compagnia vuole che questo spettacolo rifletta le diversità sociali del Regno Unito e la rappresenti pienamente.

Contratto di lavoro per

• Prendere parte a 6 spettacoli di 5 SOLDIERS sotto forma di  showcase per invitare produttori, programmatori e direttori di teatri
• Prendere parte a uno showcase presso l’Ambasciata Inglese e lo staff militare USA a Washington DC

Date

• Un blocco di tre giorni con Rosie Kay durante il periodo 11-15 oppure 18-22 dicembre 2017 a Birmingham – bisogna essere disponibili per almeno 3 giorni consecutivi durante questi periodi indicati.
• Un blocco di quattro giorni con tutta la compagnia: periodo 8-11 gennaio a Birmingham
• Spettacoli negli USA dal 12 al 16 gennaio 2018

Retribuzione:
3 giorni a dicembre @ £95
dall’ 8 al 16 gennaio, retribuzione lorda ‘all-inclusive’ di £740 (4 giorni di prove, 3 di showcase e due di giorni di viaggio)
Viaggi, sistemazione (inclusa la sistemazione a Birmingham per le prove se necessario) e diaria vi saranno forniti in USA.

Audizione
venerdì 10 November 2017 dalle 10:00 alle 17:00
Presso il DanceXchange, Level 5, Birmingham Hippodrome, Thorp Street, Birmingham B5 4TB

Avrete un momento molto vicino e personale con Rosie Kay e con uno dei membri della compagnia.

L’audizione consisterà in:

• sessione di fitness e una classe tecnica con Rosie Kay
• Repertorio
• Sessione di improvvisazione
• sessione per imparare la parte dello scontro a fuoco

Requisiti per partecipare all’audizione aperta:

Passaporto valido
Bisogna essere idonei per ottenere il Visa per gli USA – possibili problemi potrebbero verificarsi se siete stati arrestati, se precedentemente avete superato il Visto oppure se vi sia stato negato un Visa per gli USA.
Essere disponibili per 3 giorni consecutivi nel periodo 11-22 dicembre 2017 e nei giorni 8-16 gennaio 2018

Si prega di notare che la compagnia non può rimborsare i costi sostenuti per prender parte all’audizione. Se rispondete ai requisiti ma non potete partecipare il 10 novembre candidatevi lo stesso e discuterete assieme alla compagnia una soluzione.

Rosie Kay Dance Company seeks male dancers

RKDC seeks male dancers to learn part of the 5 SOLDIERS repertoire to join the company in New York and Washington DC in January 2018.

Where: DanceXchange, Level 5, Birmingham Hippodrome, Thorp Street, Birmingham B5 4TB

When: Friday 10 November 2017

Dancers need these qualities:

• Very fast at learning
• Good memory for complex material
• Able to do some preparation alone
• Strong posture and ‘military’ look * (although please read the notes below)
• Fit, strong and high stamina levels
• Good acting ability
• Team player
• Valid passport and able to attain a USA Visa

*We welcome applications from people who feel they may not ‘look’ like the British Army, or who wouldn’t think they could be part of a show that represents the military. Through this show we are breaking so many stereotypes, and we are very proud of this. So much so that the Army are supporting us. We want this show to reflect the UK’s diverse society and be representative of society fully.

To perform 6 x showcase performances of 5 SOLDIERS at APAP to invited producers, programmers and theatre directors
To perform 1 x showcase to British Embassy and USA military staff in Washington DC

Dates
Three-day block with Rosie Kay during 11-15 or 18-22 December in Birmingham – you must be available for at least three consecutive days during these periods.
Four-day block with the full company 8-11 January 2018 in Birmingham
USA showcases 12-16 January 2018

Fees
3 days @ £95 in December
8-16 January, all-inclusive fee of £740 (four rehearsal days, three showcase days and two travel days)
Travel and accommodation will be organised for you (including relocation to Birmingham for rehearsals if required) and per diems will be paid in USA.

Audition

Location: DanceXchange, Level 5, Birmingham Hippodrome, Thorp Street, Birmingham B5 4TB

You will have a very up-close and personal time with Rosie Kay and one of the company cast members.

Audition will comprise of:

Fitness session and technique class with Rosie Kay
Learning drill repertoire
Improvisation section
Learning Firefight section

Requirements to attend open audition

Valid Passport
Ability to apply for USA visa – possible issues may include if you have been arrested (even without conviction), you have previously overstayed a USA visa or you have previously been denied a USA visa.
Available for three consecutive days 11-22 December 2017 and 8-16 January 2018

Please note we cannot cover costs to attend the audition. If you meet the requirements but cannot attend on 10 November please still apply and we will discuss this with you.
