Room 2 Manoeuvre cerca un danzatore da integrare al team per la creazione di un pezzo teatrale hip hop, Without a Hitch. E’ la storia della spirale discendente di una crew di breakdance composta da 4 uomini. Il lavoro sarà un mix di breaking, teatro fisico e testo per esplorare questo tema.

Il lavoro è sia fisico che delicato e richiede queste capacità da parte di ogni candidato. Il progetto avrà sede a Edimburgo, sede della compagnia, con prove e spettacoli a Oulu, in Finlandia, e un tour nel Regno Unito in autunno. Si prega di familiarizzare con compagnia visionando www.r-2-m.net

Requisiti. I candidati devono possedere i seguenti criteri essenziali:

• Alto livello tecnico nel vocabolario della Breakdance: top rock, foot work, freezes e power moves. Ma anche altri danzatori con altre capacità sono incoraggiati a candidarsi.
• Abilità nel dimostrare una vasta gamma di sensibilità (ad esempio da dinamiche di breaking passare a qualità più sottili).
• Comprovata esperienza professionale (si prega di portare il curriculum vitae).
• Buon livello nell’inglese parlato. Questo lavoro prevede l’uso del testo e i candidati devono essere capaci di parlare in scena.
• Essere autorizzati a lavorare in UK e in EU. Room 2 Manoeuvre non fornirà visa o altri documenti
• Essere disponibile per tutta la durata del progetto.

Così come scritto sopra è auspicabile che i candidati abbiano esperienza in diversi stili e pratiche di movimento come la danza contemporanea, il teatro fisico, il contact e il lavoro di partnering, l’uso della voce e l’espressione teatrale e sappiano lavorare creativamente sia su se stessi che in gruppo. Capacità acrobatiche basiche saranno un valore aggiunto. Relativamente alle modalità lavorative della compagnia ogni candidato deve essere preparato a investire la propria personalità nel lavoro.

Prove/tournées:

• dal 13 marzo al 26 aprile 2017 prove a Edinburgo e a Oulu in Finlandia.
• dal 27 aprile al 3 maggio 2017 spettacoli a Oulu
• dal 2 ottobre all’11 novembre 2017 riallestimento e tournée nel Regno Unito.

Retribuzione e spese: £450.00 alla settimana, sistemazione (se richiesta) & diaria in tournée. Chi proviene da fuori Edimburgo, verrà assistito da Room 2 Manoeuvre nella ricerca di un alloggio favorevole. I candidati sono responsabili della loro assicurazione nazionale e delle tasse.

Sarà un’audizione aperta con i seguenti orari:

• 09:45 – 10:30. Registrazione. Non si è ammessi dopo le 10:30.
• 10:30 – 11:30. Riscaldamento seguito dalla classe.
• 11:30 – 12:45. Presentazione libera e tasks.

Dopo questa fase verrà chiesto ai selezionati di restare per la restante parte della giornata fino alle 18:00 e non oltre. Ci sarà una pausa.

Room 2 Manoeuvre is seeking 1 male dancer for the creation of a new project

Room 2 Manoeuvre is seeking 1 male dancer to join their team for the creation of a new hip hop dance theatre piece, Without a Hitch. It is the story of the downward spiral of a 4 man breakdance crew. The work will use a mixture of breaking, physical theatre and text to explore this theme.

The work is both physical and subtle and requires this performance range from any applicant. The project will be based in Edinburgh, the home of the company, with rehearsals and performances in Oulu, Finland and a UK tour in the autumn. Please familiarize yourself with the company at www.r-2-m.net

Criteria:
Applicants must demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• A high technical ability of Breakdance vocabulary such as top rock, foot work, freezes and power moves (you should at least be able to do a continuous windmill). Formally trained dancers with such skills are encouraged to apply.
• The ability to demonstrate a range of sensitivity, from dynamic breaking moves to more subtle qualities.
• A proven track record of working professionally (please bring a CV).
• A good level of spoken English. This work will involve the use of text and applicants must be comfortable with speaking on stage.
• Must possess the right to live and work in the UK and EU. Room 2 Manoeuvre will not arrange visas or such documents.
• Must be fully CRB/PVG disclosure checked for education purposes.
• Should be available for the duration of this project.

As well as the above, it is desirable that applicants should have experience of other movement styles and practices such as contemporary dance, physical theatre, contact and partnering work, using theatrical expression/acting and working creatively by themselves and in a group. Basic acrobatic skills (round off back flip, front/rear somersault) would be an advantage. The company likes to work with performers as collaborators and therefore any applicant should be prepared to invest some of their own personality into the work.

Rehearsal/touring period:

• 13th March – 26th April. Rehearsals in Edinburgh and Oulu, Finland.
• 27th April – 3rd May. Performances in Oulu, Finland
• 2nd October – 11th November. Re-rehearsal and UK tour

Fees and expenses:
£450.00 p/w, travel, accommodation (if required) & per diems on tour. If coming from outside of Edinburgh, Room 2 Manoeuvre will endeavour to assist you in finding suitable accommodation. Applicants are responsible for their own National Insurance and tax requirements.

Getting there: By train – Haggerston overground station or Hoxton station. By Bus – Bus 394 stops very near Centre 151 and runs from Islington/Angel to Hackney/Homerton. Bus 149 and 242 can be accessed from London Bridge Tube Station and run to Centre 151.

This will be an open audition and run as follows:

• 09:45 – 10:30. Registration. No Admission after 1030.
• 10:30 – 11:30. Warm up followed by class.
• 11:30 – 12:45. Freestyle presentation and tasks.

After this a selection of applicants will be asked to remain for the rest of the day until no later than 1800. Suitable breaks will be provided.
