Questa call è un invito ad artisti internazionali a venire a sviluppare il proprio lavoro e ad avere uno scambio con la comunità artistica locale. L’artista riceverà gratuitamente l’alloggio e l’accesso agli spazi di lavoro. Lo stipendio e le spese di viaggio non sono inclusi.

Ubicazione, locali e attrezzature disponibili
La residenza si trova nel centro di Lubiana. Sono disponibili due appartamenti con alloggio completo. Altre strutture includono: la sala conferenze multifunzionale che può essere utilizzata per il lavoro, le prove, la socializzazione creativa e piccole mostre; un piccolo teatro (“Skladovnica”) che può ospitare 50 persone ed è adatto per proiezioni di film, piccoli spettacoli teatrali, vari tipi di presentazioni e riunioni di lavoro.

Chi può candidarsi?
Il bando è aperto ad artisti in qualsiasi fase della loro carriera, che lavorano in uno dei seguenti campi:

• Arti visive
• Arti teatrali
• Letteratura
• Film e multimedia
• Patrimonio culturale e folklore
• Musica vocale e strumentale
• Danza contemporanea
• Lavoro interdisciplinare

Cosa si aspetta il JSKD?

• la presentazione pubblica del lavoro dell’artista alla comunità artistica locale
• una conoscenza pratica dell’inglese
• collaborazione con gli artisti locali e/o con i consulenti artistici del JSKD
• un breve riassunto (con alcune immagini) delle attività dell’artista durante il soggiorno in residenza.

La selezione dei residenti avverrà secondo il principio:

• il più possibile uguale alla rappresentanza dei campi culturali e artistici da cui provengono i candidati alle residenze.
• Il numero di candidati alla residenza registrati per ogni campo.
• Possibilità di massimizzare il numero di residenti durante il periodo.
• Conformità del progetto alle linee guida del programma JSKD.

Date della Residenza
La data di apertura del bando è il 15 aprile 2024.
La scadenza per la presentazione delle domande è il 20 maggio 2024.
I candidati saranno informati entro 30 giorni dalla chiusura del processo di candidatura.
La Residenza può svolgersi tra il 15 settembre 2024 e il 30 settembre 2025.
La durata della residenza va da sette giorni a un mese.

Per i duo e i collettivi: solo uno deve compilare il modulo e tutti gli altri collaboratori devono includere il proprio CV.

Open call for Artist in Residence in the Residence Centre Cankarjeva in Ljubljana for 2024 and 2025

This Call is an invitation to international artists to come to develop their own work and to have an exchange with the local art comunity. The artist will receive free accomodation and access to work spaces. However, monetary stipend  and travel expenses are not included.

Location, Premises and Equipment available
The Residence is located in the center of Ljubljana. There are two apartments available with full accomodation. Other facilities include: the multipurpose lecture room that can be used for work, rehearsals, creative socializing, and small exhibitions; a small theater (“Skladovnica”) that can seat 50 people and is suitable for film screenings, small theatre performances, various kinds of presentations and work meetings.

Who can apply?
The Call is open for artists at any stage of their career, who are working in any of the following fields:

• Visual arts
• Theater arts
• Literature
• Film and multimedia
• Cultural heritage and folklore
• Vocal and instrumental music
• Contemporary dance
• Interdisciplinary work

What does JSKD expect?

• public presentation of artist´s work to the local art community
• a working knowledge of English
• cooperation with local artists and / or the JSKD art advisors
• a brief summary (with some visuals) of artist´s activities during the stay in Residence

The selection of residents will take place according to the principle:

• As equal as possible to the representation of cultural and artistic fields from which the candidates for residencies originate.
• The number of registered candidates for residentces in each term.
• Possibilities of maximizing the number of residents during the term.
• Compliance of the project with the JSKD program guidelines.

Dates of the Residency
The opening date of the Call is April 15th, 2024.
The deadline to submit an application is May 20th, 2024.
The applicants will be notified within 30 days after the closing of the application process.
A Residency can take place between September 15th, 2024 and September 30th, 2025.
The length of the residency is from seven days to one month.
