Northwest Dance Project annuncia il bando del concorso Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition, per identificare due coreografi emergenti che avranno l’opportunità di creare un lavoro originale.

Northwest Dance Project è impegnata a lavorare con artisti di diverse esperienze e background, e utilizza il Concorso Coreografico Pretty Creatives come un mezzo per aiutare a sviluppare nuovi artisti nella danza. Tra i vincitori delle precedenti edizioni: Maurice Causey, Loni Landon, Lauren Edson, Pedro Dias, James Gregg, Marina Mascarell, Gregory Dolbashian, Hanna Kiel, Robyn Mineko-Williams, Alex Soares, Simone Orlando, Yin Yue, Eric Handman e Lesley Telford.

I coreografi selezionati parteciperanno ad un soggiorno di sei giorni dal 13 al 18 luglio 2015 durante il nostro progetto innovativo LAUNCH. Durante il periodo di residenza i coreografi selezionati avranno 6 ore di “tempo creativo” al giorno e un forum aperto per sviluppare e creare nuovo materiale coreografico. Una presentazione dei “work in progress” o dei brani completati verrà mostrato al Lincoln Performance Hall il 18 luglio 2015 alle ore 19:30. Questa presentazione è aperta al pubblico.

Il Direttore Artistico della Northwest Dance Project, Sarah Slipper, aiuterà a guidare la Pretty Creative residency.

La residenza comprende:

viaggi da e per Portland, diaria e alloggio
presentazione pubblica in contesto teatrale

PRETTY Creatives International Choreographic Competition.

Northwest Dance Project announces a call for entries for our Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition to identify two emerging choreographers who will have the opportunity to create an original work.

Northwest Dance Project is committed to working with artists of diverse experiences and backgrounds, and utilizes our Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition as a means of helping to develop new voices in dance. Previous winners include Maurice Causey, Loni Landon, Lauren Edson, Pedro Dias, James Gregg, Marina Mascarell, Gregory Dolbashian, Hanna Kiel, Robyn Mineko-Williams, Alex Soares, Simone Orlando, Yin Yue, Eric Handman and Lesley Telford.

Selected choreographers will participate in a six-day summer residency from July 13 to 18, 2015 during our innovative LAUNCH Project. During the residency period, selected choreographers will have six hours of creative time per day and an open forum to develop and create new choreographic material. An presentation of the resulting “works-in-progress” or completed pieces will be shown at Lincoln Performance Hall on July 18 / 2015 at 7:30PM. This presentation is open to the public. Choreographers will work with all our visiting LAUNCH dancers, but choreography can be developed on a smaller group of dancers.

Northwest Dance Project’s Artistic Director, Sarah Slipper, will help guide the Pretty Creatives residency.
