Pratice è un bando per praticanti che vogliano provare nuove e innovative performances contemporanee e lavori di danza di fronte al pubblico.

Saranno scelti fino a un massimo di 4 work in progress, tra assoli e lavori per compagnie, che hanno il potenziale per essere sviluppati e rappresentati alla ICIA University of Bath e al Salisbury Arts Centre.

La prossima piattaforma si terrà al Salisbury Arts Centre mercoledì 30 Marzo 2016.

Practice crea un ambiente sicuro per un avvincente scambio di opinioni tra artisti e pubblico. Dopo lo spettacolo ci sarà una chiacchierata informale per ricevere feedback sul lavoro e fare domande, aprendo un vero e proprio dialogo che aiuterà gli autori a sviluppare ulteriormente il lavoro. Questa comunicazione bidirezionale è una parte integrante della serata.

Practice vuole dare la priorità al lavoro ai professionisti e ai professionisti emergenti del teatro e della danza e alle compagnie che stanno sviluppando idee al fine di produrre opere a serata intera e che andranno in tour a livello regionale, nazionale o internazionale. Idealmente questo sarà un lavoro che si adatta alle programmazioni del Salisbury Arts Centre e/o della ICIA Università di Bath, in cui sono inclusi teatro fisico, lavoro con maschera e teatro di figura, danza, pratiche contemporanee nelle arti dal vivo, spettacoli per famiglie, performances di persone con disabilità, performances multimediali e lavori artistici anche per esterno e in site-specific. Questo evento verrà organizzato come parte del Theatre Fest West e intende incoraggiare i candidati con sede a Wiltshire, Bath e nel sud ovest.

Ci saranno 4 eventi di Practice ogni anno. L’evento è prodotto da:

• BAC (Battersea Arts Centre)
• Theatre Bristol e/o Activate Performing Arts (Dorset)

Se selezionati :

• Dovrete presentare tra 10 e 15 minuti di materiale performativo
• Ricevete £100 come cachet più un contributo per le spese di £50
• Effettuate uno Sharing del proprio lavoro al Salisbury Arts Centre il 30 marzo 2016
• Essere coinvolti in un dialogo creativo sia sul proprio lavoro che su quello di colleghi artisti con un pubblico vero che può aiutare e informare sul processo creativo e sulla pratica stessa
• Incontrare altri artisti e compagnie con cui poter eventualmente sviluppare future partnerships

Salisbury Arts Centre. Call for Artists: Practice March 2016

This is an open call for practitioners to test new and innovative contemporary performance and dance work in front of a live audience.

Practice will consist of up to four selected extracts of work in progress by solo performers and companies, with the potential for some of the works to be further developed and performed at ICIA University of Bath and Salisbury Arts Centre.

The next Practice platform will take place at Salisbury Arts Centre on Wednesday 30 March 2016.

Practice creates a safe environment for an engaging exchange of views between artists and audiences. After the performances, there will be an informal discussion enabling you to receive feedback on the work and ask questions, opening up a genuine dialogue that will help develop the work further. This two-way communication is an integral part of the evening. So if you work with dance, if you work with theatre, if you’re a live artist, if you have an idea, if you have an experiment, why not test it at Practice?

Practice aims to prioritise the work of professional and emerging professional theatre and dance practitioners and companies who are developing ideas with a view to producing full-length works that will tour regionally, nationally or internationally.  Ideally this will be work that fits with Salisbury Arts Centre and/or ICIA University of Bath’s programming policies, which include devised, physical theatre, mask work and puppetry, dance, live art and contemporary practice, family performance, performance by and for people with disabilities, multimedia and multi artform work and outdoor and site specific performance. As this event will be staged as part of Theatre Fest West, we are particularly keen to encourage applicants based in Wiltshire, Bath and the South West.

There will be four Practice events each year. The event will be attended by producers from:

• BAC (Battersea Arts Centre)
• Theatre Bristol and/or Activate Performing Arts (Dorset)

If selected, you will:

• Present between ten and fifteen minutes of performance material
• Receive £100 performance fee plus a contribution towards expenses of £50
• Showcase your work at an exciting live event at Salisbury Arts Centre on Wednesday 30 March
• Have the opportunity to engage in a creative dialogue, about your work and that of the other artists, with real audiences to help inform your process and practice
• Meet other artists and companies presenting and develop potential future partnerships
