Open Call | Mediterranea 17. Biennale Giovani Artisti, Milano 2015

L’evento si svolgerà a Milano dal 22 al 25 ottobre 2015. La call è rivolta ad artisti under 35 in tutte le discipline (arti visive e applicate, letteratura, performance di prosa, musica e danza, cinema, video e gastronomia). Scadenza presentazione candidature: 15 marzo 2015.

Bjcem e il Comune di Milano promuovono Mediterranea 17 – Biennale Giovani Artisti – Milano 2015, un evento internazionale multidisciplinare che si svolgerà a Milano, Italia, presso la Fabbrica del Vapore, Via Procaccini 4, dal 22 al 25 ottobre 2015, e che prevede la partecipazione di oltre 300 artisti.

Dal 1985 la Biennale si svolge ogni due anni in differenti città del Mediterraneo. Bjcem è un network internazionale composto da più di 70 membri e partner Europei, del Medio Oriente e Africani che, con il loro supporto, rendono l’evento possibile assicurando la partecipazione di artisti provenienti dai loro territori.
La richiesta di candidature è aperta ad artisti visivi, registi, scrittori, performers, musicisti, designers, stilisti, cuochi di età inferiore ai 35 anni (nati entro il 31 dicembre 1980) provenienti da uno dei paesi elencati al termine del bando di concorso. Gli artisti devono presentare un progetto specifico in relazione al tema di questa edizione. La partecipazione al bando è gratuita e aperta a tutti, senza distinzioni di sesso, religione, comportamenti sociali e politici. Gli artisti che hanno partecipato ad una delle edizioni precedenti non possono candidarsi. La priorità viene data agli artisti che non hanno mai partecipato all’evento.
Il termine per la presentazione della candidatura è il 15 marzo 2015.

Le candidature sono richieste per I seguenti ambiti:

• Visual Arts – si prendono in considerazione tutte le forme di espressione visual, realizzate con strumenti tradizionali o innovative, digitali e analogici. Pittura, scultura, fotografia, comics, video arte; istallazioni; public art; progetti web…
• Arti applicate – si prendono in considerazione le seguenti discipline: architettura, design industriale, Visual design, web sdesign, moda, creazioni digitali…
• Letteratura – è possibile presentare romanzi, saggi, poemi, favole e brevi storie.
• Show – si prendono in considerazione le seguenti discipline: prosa, danza, urban act, musica. Per la Danza è possibile presentare coreografie originali di danza contemporanea senza limiti di stile (durata massima 45 minuti) che saranno presentate su di un palcoscenico di 8×6 metri completo di allestimento luci e audio. I gruppi devono essere composti da un massimo di 6 persone (inclusi sceneggiatori, disegnatori luci, tecnici, ecc.). Per la selezione è necessario inviare documentazione video dello spettacolo o un progetto con la documentazione dell’attività del gruppo)
• Cinema / Video – è possibile presentare cortometraggi, film di media durata, documentari, film di animazione.
• Gastronomia

Call for participation |Mediterranea 17 Young Artists Biennale, Milan 2015

General information

Bjcem and the City of Milan announce the launch of Mediterranea 17 Young Artists Biennale, an international multidisciplinary event, taking place in Milan, Italy, at Fabbrica del Vapore, 4 Procaccini Street, from October 22^nd to October 25^th 2015, bringing together more than 300 artists.

Started in 1985, the Biennial takes place every two years in a different city in the Mediterranean area focusing on young artists and creators. Bjcem is an international network with more than 70 members and partners from Europe, Middle East and Africa, which, thanks to their support, make the event possible ensuring the participation of artists from the territories they represent.

The call is open to visual artists, filmmakers, writers, performers, musicians, designers stylists, chefs under the age of 35 (born by December 31^st 1980) coming from one of the country listed at the end of the present call. Artists have to present one specific proposal related to the concept. The participation to the present call is free of charges and it’s open to everyone regardless of gender, religion, social and political behaviors. Artists that have participated in more than one previous edition can’t apply, priority will be given to artists that have never attended the event.

The participation to the present call is for

• Visual Arts are taken into consideration all forms of visual expression, realized with traditional or innovative instruments, digital or analogical. Painting, sculpture, photography, comics, video art; installations; public art; web projects and mixed media…
• Applied Arts are taken into consideration the following disciplines: Architecture, Industrial Design, Visual Design, web design, fashion, digital creation,
• Literature it is possible to present: romances, essays, poems, tales and short stories.
• Show it is possible to present the following disciplines: Theatre, Dance, Urban Act, Music. For Dance It is possible to present original choreography of contemporary dance without style limitations (maximum duration 45 minutes) that will be presented on a 8×6 meters stage with a standard audio and lightening equipment. The group should be composed of a maximum of six people (including writers, set designers, technicians, etc. ). For the selection it has to be sent a video documentation of the show or a project with attached documentation materials of the activities of the group.
• Cinema / Video it can be presented short films, medium-length films, documentaries, animation films.
