Per il settimo anno consecutivo Centrale Fies art work space presenta LIVE WORKS, piattaforma di ricerca e di produzione dedicata all’approfondimento transdisciplinare della performance.
9 i progetti selezionati per un periodo di residenza artistica collettiva ospitata dagli spazi di Centrale Fies e strutturata attraverso una free school – dal 6 al 16 Luglio 2019 – e un programma live di presentazione dei progetti al pubblico, in apertura della 39a edizione del Festival di arti performative Drodesera – 19, 20 e 21 Luglio 2019.
Fino al 1 aprile 2019 il bando è aperto a partecipanti di ogni provenienza geografica e senza limiti di età, singoli o gruppi, con pratiche artistiche live di diversa natura: performance, sound and new media art, text-based performance, lecture performance, multimedia storytelling, pratiche coreografiche, pratiche relazionali e progetti workshop-based, e altri progetti che mettono in discussione l’idea di performance al di là del corpo.
La specificità di LIVE WORKS consiste in un’attenzione particolare alla ricerca ibrida, con l’intento di sottolineare la natura di “apertura” e fluidità del performativo, la sua implicazione sociale e politica e la sua intelligibilità pubblica.
La produzione dei progetti performativi in residenza avverrà intrecciando diverse tipologie di curatela, dallo sviluppo tecnico all’accompagnamento teorico, sempre.
Nelle tre serate live di LIVE WORKS, un board di professionisti internazionali, provenienti da festival, istituzioni, programmi di produzione e residenza e manifestazioni che sostengono e producono la ricerca in ambito performativo, saranno coinvolti attivamente in un confronto con i nove artisti per approfondire alcuni passaggi fondamentali delle performance presentate: Christine Eyene (Direttrice artistica della 5°edizione della Biennale Internazionale di Casablanca 2020, Marocco); Elvira Dyangani Ose (Direttrice, The Showroom, London); Ane Rodríguez Armendariz (Direttrice artistica, Tabakalera, International Centre for Contemporary Culture, Donostia/San Sebastián, Spagna); Hicham Khalidi (Direttore, Jan Van Eyck Academie, Maastricht, Paesi Bassi); Ash Bulayev (Direttore, Onassis AiR: (inter)national artistic research residency program, Atene, Grecia); Danjel Andersson (da maggio 2019 Direttore di Dansehallerne, Copenaghen, Danimarca).
Concepito come un organismo in evoluzione, LIVE WORKS diventa ogni anno più aderente alla filosofia di chi l’ha ideato: non un semplice evento annuale ma una piattaforma continua, animata da una politica reale di curatela, nutrimento, sostegno e diffusione di quelle pratiche artistiche emergenti che creano nuovi scenari e ampliano la ricerca nel campo del performativo.

LIVE WORKS Vol.7 a project by Centrale Fies art work space. Open Call
For the seventh consecutive year Centrale Fies art work space presents LIVE WORKS, a platform of research and production dedicated to the transdisciplinary development of performance.
9 projects will be selected for a period of collective artistic residency hosted in the spaces of Centrale Fies and structured through a free school – from 6 to 16 July 2019 – and a live program of presentation of the projects for the public, on the opening of the 39th edition of the performing arts Drodesera Festival – 19, 20 and 21 July 2019.
The LIVE WORKS call for applications is open until 1 April to participants of all geographical regions and without age limits, for individuals or groups with live artistic practices of diverse nature: performance, sound and new media art, text-based performance, lecture performance, multimedia storytelling, choreography practices, relational practices and workshop-based projects, and other projects that discuss the idea of performance beyond the body.
LIVE WORKS puts particular emphasis on hybrid research, with the intent of highlighting the “openness” and fluidity of performance, its social and political implications and its public intelligibility. The production of performance projects in residence will weave together diverse types of curation, from technical development to theoretical accompaniment, always.
Over the three evenings of LIVE WORKS, a board of international professionals, coming from festivals, institutions, production and residency programs and events that support and produce research in the performative field, will be actively involved with the nine artists to develop several fundamental passages of the presented performances: Christine Eyene (Artistic director of the 5th edition of the Casablanca Biennale 2020, Marocco); Elvira Dyangani Ose (Director, The Showroom, London); Ane Rodríguez Armendariz (Artistic director, Tabakalera, International Centre for Contemporary Culture, Donostia/San Sebastián, Spagna); Hicham Khalidi (Director, Jan Van Eyck Academie, Maastricht, Paesi Bassi); Ash Bulayev (Director, Onassis AiR: (inter)national artistic research residency program, Atene, Grecia); Danjel Andersson (from May 2019 Director of Dansehallerne, Copenaghen, Danimarca).
Conceived as an organism in evolution, each year LIVE WORKS adheres more closely to the philosophy of the people who created it: not a simple annual event but a continual platform, animated by a real policy of curating, nurturing, supporting and diffusing those emerging artistic practices that create new scenarios and amplify the research in the performative field.
