La Rambert Company, principale compagnia di danza contemporanea britannica, invita i migliori danzatori del mondo, ad inizio carriera, a far parte della Rambert2, una nuova ala della compagnia principale progettata per sviluppare e mostrare la prossima generazione di ballerini.
Rambert2 è un nuovo pionieristico ensemble creato dalla Rambert Company in collaborazione con la Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, supportato da The Linbury Trust.
La Rambert2 sarà in tour nel Regno Unito nell’autunno del 2018 per 40 date di tournée con un trittico formato dai lavori di alcuni tra i principali coreografi di oggi: E2 7SD di Rafael Bonachela, Killer pig di Sharon Eyal, e da un nuovo lavoro di Benoit-Swan Pouffer, direttore artistico del Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet.
La Rambert2 sarà il primo junior ensemble associato ad una compagnia di repertorio del Regno Unito, un format già praticato con grande successo da compagnie di altri paesi.
È il primo programma al mondo ad integrare l’esperienza professionale con lo studio universitario. Ogni ballerino riceverà un sostegno finanziario equivalente al London Living Wage e avrà sede presso la casa della Rambert Company a Londra nel Soutbank.
I danzatori della Rambert2 svolgeranno un programma di 12 mesi articolato in 4 parti: il training, gli spettacoli, gli studi accademici e attività di crescita quali workshop s nelle scuole ed eventi per la comunità.
Per le scuole la Rambert2 rimonterà Kamuyot, un lavoro creato da Ohad Naharin per spazi non teatrali e pubblico di adolescenti.
La Rambert2 darà spettacoli al Sadler’s Wells a novembre 2018 ed effettuerà una tournée in 15 luoghi nel Regno Unito, espandendo la presenza nazionale della Rambert ed introducendo il pubblico di tutto il paese ai lavori dei coreografi contemporanei il cui lavoro è raramente visto nel Regno Unito e al di fuori di Londra grazie al lavoro di danzatori internazionali all’avanguardia.
Durante l’anno i danzatori completeranno una qualificazione post laurea, MA nella Professional Dance Performance, premiati dalla Rambert School, uno dei maggiori Conservatori del paese.
La Rambert2 sarà finanziata sia col box office che soprattutto dall’Arts Council England e la borsa di tre anni del The Linbury Trust. L’inizio della stagione della Rambert2 è supportata dal Sadler’s Wells.
Danzatori contemporanei eccezionali a inizio carriera sono invitati a candidarsi dal 1 dicembre 2017 per integrarsi alla Rambert2 fino a luglio 2018.

Britain’s leading contemporary dance company is inviting the world’s finest early-career dancers to join Rambert2, a new wing of the company designed to develop and showcase the next generation of highly skilled, thinking dancers.
Rambert2 will tour the UK in autumn 2018 with a triple bill of works by three of the most exciting choreographers working in dance today. Alongside revivals of Rafael Bonachela’s and Sharon Eyal’s breakthrough works E2 7SD and Killer Pig, Rambert2 will create a new piece by former Alvin Ailey dancer and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet artistic director Benoit-Swan Pouffer.
Rambert2 will be the first junior ensemble attached to a UK repertory company – something practised with great success by companies in other countries, including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Nederlands Dans Theater. It is the first programme in the world to integrate professional experience at the highest level with postgraduate study. Each dancer will receive financial support equivalent to the London Living Wage and be based at Rambert’s home on London’s south bank.
Rambert2 dancers will complete a 12-month programme with four strands: training, performing, academic study, and outreach activity including schools’ workshops and community events. For schools, Rambert2 will remount Kamuyot, a work created by world-famous choreographer Ohad Naharin for non-theatre spaces and teenage audiences. Rambert2 will perform on the Sadler’s Wells stage in London in November 2018, and tour to 15 venues throughout the UK, expanding Rambert’s presence nationally and introducing substantial audiences across the country to the work of cutting-edge, international dance-makers, whose work is rarely seen in the UK outside of London.
During their year, dancers will complete a new postgraduate qualification, MA in Professional Dance Performance, awarded by Rambert School, one of the country’s leading dance conservatoires. Rambert2 will be funded through a combination of box office revenues, Rambert’s core funding from Arts Council England and a major three-year grant from The Linbury Trust. Rambert2’s debut season is also supported by Sadler’s Wells.
Outstanding contemporary dancers at the very beginning of their careers are invited to apply from Friday 1 December to join the first Rambert2 cohort from July 2018. Open auditions will be held in London on Thursday 1 – Sunday 4 February 2018 at our home on London’s south bank.
