Williamsburg Movement e Arts Center e The Moving Beauty Series presentano The Co-Op, una collaborazione tra danzatori e coreografi facilitata da The Intimate Series.
La presentazione pubblica del progetto si svolgerà il 4, 5 -e 6 marzo 2016 alle ore 20.00 presso Williamsburg Movement e Arts Center, 347 Grand Street. Brooklyn, NY. 11211.

A firma di Intimate Series production, The Co-Op presenta un cast fenomenale di 6 danzatori, uomini e donne, che presenteranno sia lavori di repertorio che nuove creazioni di 4 brillanti coreografi. Un punto fondamentale di The Co-Op è che i partecipanti si dividono tutti i proventi in parti uguali tra di loro. Si tratta di un vero processo collaborativo per creare e trarre insieme il maggior profitto possibile dallo spettacolo.

Il progetto The Co-Op è stato ideato da Lakey Evans-Peña e Juan Michael Porter II per dar modo ai ballerini di capire cosa significhi produrre uno spettacolo in termini di costi, produzione, etc. I termini di partecipazione consentono a tutti i soggetti coinvolti di toccare con mano cosa significa mettere in scena uno spettacolo.

Ogni coreografo che partecipa al The Co-op presenterà tra i 15 e i 20 minuti di lavoro. I sei membri del cast saranno selezionati tramite audizione, dopo di che ci saranno le prove per un mese prima di arrivare a presentare assieme una serie di performances. In definitiva l’obiettivo è quello di ottenere un solido repertorio che possa esteso e portato nelle città circostanti di tutta New York.

I coreografi interessati a partecipare avranno circa 20 weekend e/o prove serali per creare le loro pieces. La preferenza è data ai lavori originali. The Moving Beauty Series e Williamsburg Movement and Arts Center lavoreranno con i coreografi e i danzatori per generare marketing, supporto promozionale e una produzione che metta in risalto i partecipanti.

Inoltre il WMAAC ospiterà un’audizione di 3 ore da parte dei coreografi partecipanti per selezionare un gruppo di 6 danzatori.

Il Co-op sarà presentato in anteprima in 3 serate dal 4 al 6 marzo 2016.

The Intimate Series is accepting Choreographers for: The Co-Op.

Williamsburg Movement and Arts Center + The Moving Beauty Series presents The Co-Op, a business collaboration amongst dancers and choreographers facilitated by The Intimate Series.
March 4th, 5th, & 6th, 2016. 8 PM – Williamsburg Movement and Arts Center – 347 Grand Street. Brooklyn, NY. 11211.

A signature Intimate Series production, The Co-Op presents a phenomenal cast of 6 dancers performing the repertory works and original creations of 4 dazzling choreographers. A highlight of The Co-Op is that participants all split the proceeds equally amongst themselves. This is a true collaborative process wherein all come together to create and profit from the greatest show possible.

The Co-Op was conceived by Lakey Evans-Peña and Juan Michael Porter II as a way of educating dancers and dance makers about what it means to put on a show in terms of cost, production, and the realities of compensation. The terms of production allow for all involved to see first hand what it means and what it takes to put on a show. As with most things in life, the leading principle is you get out of it what you put into it.

Each choreographer participating in The Co-Op will present between 15 and 20 minutes of work. The six cast members will be selected by audition to participate, after which they will rehearse over the course of a month before coming together present a set of performances. Ultimately the goal is to have a solid repertory show that can be expanded upon and taken on the road to surrounding towns throughout NYC.

Choreographers interested in participating are allotted approximately 20 weekend and/or evening rehearsal hours in which to create their pieces. A preference is definitely given to original works as we wish to nurtuThe Moving Beauty Series and Williamsburg Movement and Arts Center also work with choreographers and dancers to create marketing, promotional support, and an unique production that specifically highlights the wonderful participants.

Additionally, WMAAC will host a 3 hour audition for participating choreographers to select a group of 6 dancers.

The Co-Op will premiere with three sets of performances on March 4th – 6th, 2016.
