Tom’s Midnight Garden è ampiamente riconosciuto come una delle più grandi opere di letteratura per ragazzi mai scritte. Al tempo stesso fantastica e profondamente veritiera, racconta la storia di un giardino che esiste solo quando l’orologio batte le tredici, e della potente e duratura amicizia che due bambini vi trovano.
La produzione originale di Frankly Speaking Productions, il primo adattamento per la danza di questo titolo, combina il balletto contemporaneo con la parola parlata per raccontare in modo accorato e gioioso questa storia senza tempo. Lo spettacolo ha avuto una prima tournée di successo nel Regno Unito nell’estate del 2021 e la Frankly Speaking Productions è entusiasta di riproporre la produzione per il 2022.
Tom’s Midnight Garden è una produzione open air e sta girando per gli spazi verdi del sud-est/est dell’Inghilterra.
Informazioni sull’audizione
Si cercano due danzatori uomini da inserire nella produzione. I candidati devono avere una formazione professionale in danza contemporanea e classica ed essere appassionati di un lavoro con una forte spinta narrativa.
Devono essere a loro agio nel gestire il parlato come parte dello spettacolo, nell’esibirsi come parte di un piccolo cast di quattro danzatori e nell’esibirsi in spazi non tradizionali all’aria aperta, compreso il lavoro sull’erba.
A causa della portata della tournée e del luogo in cui si svolgono le prove, è necessario risiedere nel sud-est dell’Inghilterra. Una patente di guida completa del Regno Unito e la disponibilità di un veicolo sono auspicabili ma non essenziali.
Ruoli
- Tom (uomo) – un personaggio volitivo, curioso e avventuroso. Il ruolo prevede un’ampia gestione del parlato. Età di recitazione: 16-25 anni.
- Ensemble (uomini) – una parte molto variegata che prevede la presenza di più ruoli, tra cui il giovane Barty e Edgar. Età: 16-30 anni.
Compenso
Spettacoli: 120 sterline al giorno per spettacolo più le spese di viaggio. L’alloggio sarà fornito nel caso in cui si debba soggiornare lontano da casa.
Prove: 500 sterline a forfait (più le spese di viaggio per oltre 25 miglia a tratta p/d).

Frankly Speaking Productions is seeking two male dancers for its September 2022 UK tour: Tom’s Midnight Garden.

Tom’s Midnight Garden is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest works of children’s literature ever written. At once both fantastical and profoundly truthful, it tells the story of a garden that exists only as the clock strikes thirteen, and the powerful, enduring friendship two children find there.
The first ever dance adaptation of the title, Frankly Speaking Productions’ original production combines contemporary ballet with spoken word for a heartfelt and joyful telling of this timeless story. The show first ran for a successful UK tour over summer 2021, and we are excited to be reviving the production for 2022.
Tom’s Midnight Garden is an open air production and is touring green spaces across South East / East England.
Audition information
We are seeking two male dancers to join the production. You must be professionally trained in contemporary and ballet, and be passionate about performing work with a strong narrative drive.
You must be comfortable handling spoken word as part of the performance; performing as part of a small cast of four dancers; and performing in non-traditional open air performance spaces, including working on grass.
Due to the scope of the tour and location of rehearsals, you must be based in South East England. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential.
Roles
- Tom (M) — a strong-willed, curious and adventurous character. The role involves extensive handling of spoken word. Playing age: 16-25.
- Ensemble (M) — a highly varied part involving multi-roling incl. Young Barty and Edgar. Playing age: 16-30.
Pay
Performances: £120 per performance day plus full travel expenses. Accommodation will be provided as applicable where you are required to stay away from home.
Rehearsals: £500 flat fee (plus travel over 25 miles one-way p/d)
