Il Festival di Mexico City 2018. FIDCDMX, giunto alla sua terza edizione presenta il primo Concorso internazionale per solisti contemporanei maturi, FIDCDMX. Il concorso si svolge a Città del Messico nell’ambito del FIDCDMX 2018.
Il concorso è aperto ai solisti di danza contemporanea dai 40 anni in su.
I pezzi possono essere di durata massima di 10 minuti.
Scadenza per le candidature: 15 maggio 2018.
Le richieste tecniche e le scenografie devono essere minimali ed adattabili alle condizioni del posto ove il concorso si tiene.
Il concorso si articola in cinque fasi: a) Prova dell’età e della carriera b) Preselezione basata sul video c) fase eliminatoria d) Semifinale e) Finale.
Quest’anno ci sarà un solo premio in danaro dell’ammontare minimo di 500 euro (il cui importo crescerà se verrà ottenuto un maggiore finanziamento). Il vincitore verrò scelto da una giuria composta da specialisti della danza contemporanea. Ci sarà anche un Premio del pubblico ed una Menzione speciale che quest’anno non riceverà alcun compenso economico. Il vincitore del Premio FIDCDMX insieme a un altro pezzo scelto tra l’Audience award e la Special mention, danzerà a chiusura del Festival, quando i risultati finali saranno annunciati.
Per candidarsi è necessario mandare a internationaldanceaward@gmail.com le seguenti informazioni:
- Documento ufficiale che comprovi di avere 40 anni o oltre.
- Breve biografia o curriculum vitae e link in Internet che attestino la carriera nella danza contemporanea.
- Un video della pièce completa che il solista vuole candidare oppure un video di un work in progress. Il video deve essere rigorosamente presentato su YouTube o Vimeo (con password nel caso sia in modalità privata); altrimenti non si verrà presi in considerazione.
La scadenza per candidarsi è fissata al 30 maggio 2018. Se l’artista (così da chiedere un finanziamento) intende partecipare e vuole conoscere prima i risultati è possibile mandare il verdetto della preselezione in anticipo. E’ importante far notare che il Festival offrirà ai partecipanti vitto e alloggio durante il soggiorno; tuttavia le spese di viaggio non saranno coperte. In ogni caso il festival può aiutare l’artista coi documenti per chiedere un aiuto economico o un finanziamento per la sua partecipazione.
I risultati ufficiali saranno pubblicati entro il 1 luglio 2018.Gli interpreti che giungono a questa fase saranno opportunamente contattati relativamente al luogo ove si svolgerà il concorso. Tuttavia è importante far notare che la disponibilità è richiesta dal 1 al 13 agosto 2018.
Nelle due passate edizioni il festival ha portato oltre 50 compagnie da 30 paesi e ha dato accesso a quasi 30.000 persone. E’ un evento senza precedenti, l’unico nel suo genere a Mexico City.
International Contest For Mature Contemporary Dance soloist, FIDCDMX
International Contemporary Dance Festival of Mexico City FIDCDMX, 2018 – Third edition – presents the first international contest for mature contemporary dance soloists. The contest will happen in Mexico City within the frame of the FIDCDMX 2018.
- The contest is open to contemporary dance soloists that are 40 years old and above.
- The piece to present should be maximum 10 minutes long.

Deadline for applications: May the 15th, 2018
The technical requirements and the scenography proposed should be minimal and should be adapted to the conditions of the venues where the contest will be presented.
The contest will consist of five facets: a) Proof of age and career b) Pre-selection of the piece through video c) Eliminatory d) Semifinal e) Final.
This year there will be only one economical award of a minimum of 500 euros ( to grow if more funding is gotten). The winner will be selected by a jury conformed by contemporary dance specialists.
There will also be an ‘Audience award’ and an ‘Special mention’ that this year won’t receive any economical award.
The winner of the FIDCDMX award along with one more piece selected between the ‘Audience award’ and the ‘Special mention’, will dance in the closure of the Festival, where the final results will be announced.

- An official document that proves to be 40 years old and above.
- Small biography or CV, as well as Internet links which prove a career in contemporary dance.
- A video of the full piece with which the soloist will apply, or else, a video of the work in progress. The video should be rigorously presented in a YouTube or Vimeo link (with password in case of being private); otherwise it would be impossible to consider it.
The deadline for applying is May the 30th, 2018. If an artist (in order to apply for fundraising) to be able to come and participate, need to know their results before, it is possible to send the verdict of the preselection beforehand. It is important to notice that Festival will offer meals and accommodation during the stay of the participant; however plane tickets cannot be covered. In any case, the festival can help the artist with documents to apply for fundraising and be able to attend.
The official results will be published on July the 1st 2018.The interpreters who reach this phase will be opportunely notified about the venues where the contest will continue. However, it is important to notice that the availability required is from August the 1st to August the 13th.
Within only two editions, the Festival has brought more than 50 companies from 30 countries and has had direct access to almost 30,000 people. It is an unprecedented event, the only of its kind in Mexico City.
