Il festival di Atene ed Epidauro annuncia un bando per proposte artistiche per il 2017. Il festival copre diverse forme d’arte e siti con 4 distinte performance e progetti artistici per categoria.
Le categorie per performances e progetti artistici sono:
1. Performances (teatro, danza e musica) Le proposte coinvolgono la creazione o rappresentazione di teatro e danza e musica.
2. Progetti collaborativi incrociati su un tema comune Le proposte possono essere inviate o da artisti (registi, coreografi, visual artist) oppure da gruppi/compagnie e possono coinvolgere diverse forme artistiche ed eventi (performances, mostre, concerti) su un unico tema. E importante includere almeno due diverse forme d’arte e più di un evento strutturato in un programma unificato. Lo scopo è di promuovere la collaborazione artistica e affrontare un tema da diversi punti di vista.
3. «Opening to the city» (progetti in Site-specific e di comunità) Proposte che coinvolgono progetti in site-specific e spazi pubblici (piazze, portici, quartieri, siti archeologici, musei). Essi possono coinvolgere diverse arti (teatro, musica, danza, letteratura, visual art) e il requisito è che siano in relazione e interazione con la città di Atene e i suoi abitanti. I progetti possono includere (indicativamente ma non è obbligatorio) la storia, la memoria collettiva, il carattere dello spazio urbano, la vita commerciale della città. In questo contesto sono incoraggiate le collaborazioni coi numerosi collettivi così come coi ricercatori, coi movimenti civili, con la solidarietà ai migranti, le scuole, le comunità locali, le attività artistiche. Per tali progetti il Festival ha già contattato e collaborerà con la Municipalità di Atene. L’area delle attività può espandersi e includere il porto di Atene, la città del Pireo, e infatti il Festival collaborerà anche col Piraeus Municipal Theatre.
4. Testi teatrali greci da futuri scrittori.
A tutti gli interessati è sentitamente richiesto di inviare le proposte per il festival 2017 tra il 1 luglio e il 15 ottobre 2016 indirizzando le proposte al Direttore Artistico artisticdirector@greekfestival.gr.
Importante: nell’oggetto della mail è necessario scrivere ARTISTIC PROPOSAL 2017 (in lettere tutte maiuscole).

Athens and Epidaurus Festival. Open call for artistic proposals for 2017
The Athens and Epidaurus (Epidavros) Festival announces an open call for artistic proposals for 2017. The festival covers many artforms and sites, with four distinct performance and artistic project categories for the proposals.
The categories for performances and artistic projects are:
1. Performances (theatre or dance or music) The proposals involve the creation and/or presentation of a theatre or dance or music performance.
2. Cross-artistic collaborative projects on a common theme Proposals may be submitted either by artists (directors, choreographers, visual artists et. al) or by artistic groups and should involve a number of different art forms and events (performances, exhibitions, concerts) on a common theme. It is important to include at least two different art forms and more than one event structured as a unified program. The aim is to promote artistic collaboration and to approach a theme from different perspectives.
3. «Opening to the city» (Site-specific and community projects) Proposals involve site-specific projects in public space (squares, arcades, neighborhood, archeological sites, memorials, museums). They may involve different arts (theatre, music, dance, literature, visual arts) and it is a prerequisite to be related and to interact with the city of Athens and its citizens. The projects may involve (indicatively but not exclusively) the history, the collective memory, the character of the urban space, the commercial life of the city. In this context, collaborations with several collectives are encouraged: such as researchers, civil movements, immigrant’s solidarity clubs, schools, local communities with artistic activities. For such projects, the Festival has already contacted and will collaborate with the Municipality of Athens. The area of activities may be expanded to include Athens’ port, the city of Piraeus, as the Festival will also collaborate with the Piraeus Municipal Theatre.
4. Greek theatrical texts by upcoming play writers. In order to support and enhance writing of Greek theatrical plays, the Festival’s call for applications includes the category of Greek theatrical texts by upcoming play writers. The texts must be submitted by the writers themselves. The selected writers will participate in a workshop of two months duration (Nov-Dec 2016) with the prospect of commissioning one or two of the texts to a Greek director or theatre company to adapt it for stage presentation which will be included in the programming of the 2017 Festival.
All interested parties are kindly requested to submit their artistic proposals for the 2017 Festival, from 1st of July 2016 to 15th of October 2016 addressed to the Artistic Director artisticdirector@greekfestival.gr.
