DeNada Dance Theatre (coreografo Carlos Pons Guerra) cerca danzatori uomini con eccellente tecnica classica e contemporanea, personalità e capacità nel lavoro teatrale e sul personaggio, per la creazione e la tournée inglese della produzione a serata intera Toro: DeNada’s Beauty and the Bull, un lavoro surreale sulla questione postcoloniale e sul gender ispirato alla lettura di Angela Carter de La bella e la bestia.
Le prove per la creazione si svolgeranno tra il 21 agosto e il 22 settembre 2017 al DanceXchange, a Birmingham, nel Regno Unito, con ulteriore periodo di produzione e tournée tra il 26 febbraio e maggio 2018.
La compagnia offre due contratti professionali e due contratti da apprendista: i candidati professionisti devono avere come minimo 3 anni di esperienza in una compagnia professionale e gli apprendisti almeno 3 anni di formazione professionale in una istituzione scolastica rinomata. Capacità acrobatiche o circensi o da drag saranno un bonus ma non sono necessarie.
L’audizione è su invito e si terrà al DanceXchange, Thorp Street, a Birmingham (UK), il 30 luglio 2017 dalle 10.30 alle 18:00. Ai candidati scelti è richiesto di presenziare tutto il giorno. DeNada Dance Theatre, choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra, seeks male dancers for new production and UK national tour
DeNada Dance Theatre (choreographer Carlos Pons Guerra) is seeking male dancers with excellent classical and contemporary technique, with unique personalities, skills in character work and theatricality, for the creation and UK national tour of its new full-length narrative production, Toro: DeNada’s Beauty and the Bull, a surreal, gender questioning and postcolonial work inspired by Angela Carter’s reading of Beauty and the Beast- The Tiger’s Bride.
The creation will take place between 21st August – 22nd September 2017, at DanceXchange, Birmingham, with a further production and touring period between 26th February- May 2018.
The company is offering two professional contracts and two paid apprentice contracts: professional candidates must have a minimum of three years experience with a professional company, whilst apprentices must have a minimum of three years of vocational training in a recognised conservatoire.
Skills in acrobatics, circus and/or drag will be a bonus, but not necessary.
An audition, by invitation only, will take place at DanceXchange, Thorp Street, Birmingham (UK), on 30TH July 2017, from 10.30 am- 18.00. Selected candidates will be required to attend all day. Interested in subverting, exploring and exporting Hispanic/Latino culture in Britain and beyond, it creates darkly humorous, filmic work that questions gender, sexual and cultural expectations through kitschy theatricality and vigorous physicality.
