Aberdeen è la capitale europea del petrolio e del gas e le sue industrie apportano una significativa identità alla città. Tuttavia si riscontra una crescente presa di coscienza della imminente fine di questa produzione industriale e nuove opportunità e capacità sono necessarie per dare forma al futuro di Aberdeen e discussioni relative allo smantellamento stanno iniziando a prendere spazio.
A # DanceLive15, Citymoves ha introdotto Adventures in Authorship, un programma di dibattiti, performances e lavori interattivi che esaminano come e chi può influenzare il risultato dell’opera in cui è offuscata l’idea e il ruolo dell’autore originale.
CRITERI
E’ in questo spirito che Citymoves offre £5,000 di commissione, 3 settimane di studio (ad Aberdeen, Findhorn e a Evanton) e sistemazione nel Nord Est della Scozia durante il 2016 con un’organizzazione che supporta l’ecologia coreografica scozzese. Citymoves cerca di (de)commissionare un assolo di danza esistente (30 – 40 minuti) in qualsiasi stile e di qualsiasi nazione che sia di almeno 3 anni fa. Si offre un onorario, la sala studio e la sistemazione/alloggio per l’autore e per un’altra persona coinvolta nel progetto come co-autore per ri-creare la pièce di 30 – 40 minuti prendendo il materiale originale come stimolo per la ri-creazione. Come parte di questa commissione si dovrebbe presentare sia il solo originale che il nuovo assolo al #DanceLive16 (dal 14 al 25 ottobre 2016) e come parte del programma di Adventures in Authorship.
SCADENZA REQUISITI E INFORMAZIONI SUPPLEMENTARIE
La scadenza per l’invio delle proposte è alle ore 12.00 del 12 gennaio 2016. Per qualsiasi domanda si prega di inviare una email a Hayley Durward HDurward@aberdeencity.gov.uk. Allegare non più di una pagina che dimostri le intenzioni all’interno della propria creazione (oppure equivalente alternativa video/audio) e una copia del solo originale (inviare il file in formato mp4)
Non più di una pagina che delinei come questa commissione si inserisca nel proprio lavoro, spieghi il motivo per cui vi candidate e illustri le intenzioni del nuovo assolo oltre a indicare le date preferite da aprile a settembre 2016 e quando vorreste lavorare in studio (oltre a un video/audio).
Il budget è di £5,000 (esclusa la sistemazione che è fornita).
Una short-list di candidati sarà invitata a prendere parte a un colloquio via tel/skype il 26 gennaio 2016 e la selezione verrà confermata a metà febbraio 2016.

City Moves (Scotland) Choreography Commission
Aberdeen is the European capital of oil and gas operations and as an industry it brings a significant identity, revenue and wealth to the Granite City. However, there is a growing realisation that North Sea oil and gas fields are finite and are heading towards the end of their production lives. New opportunities and skills are needed to shape the future of Aberdeen and discussions around decommissioning are starting to take place.
At #DanceLive15, Citymoves introduced Adventures in Authorship a programme of discussions, performances and interactive work that looked at how and who can influence the outcome of work which blurred the idea and role of the original author.
CRITERIA
It is in this spirit that Citymoves are offering a £5,000 (de)commission fee, three weeks studio time (Aberdeen, Findhorn and Evanton) and accommodation in NE Scotland across 2016 with a set of dance organisations that support the choreographic ecology of Scotland. We’re looking to (de)commission an existing (30 – 40 minute) solo dance (in any style and from any country) work that is at least 3 years old. We will offer a fee, studio time and accommodation for you and up to one other person to re-author, re-look and re-create a new (30 – 40 minute) work taking your original material as the stimulus. As part of this fee you would present the original solo and new solo on the same night at #DanceLive16 (14th – 25th October 2016) as part of the Adventures in Authorship programme.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE, REQUIREMENTS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
12 noon on Tuesday 12th January 2016. Up to one page outlining why the decommission opportunity appeals to you and what your intentions would be for the new solo and identify preferable dates from April to September 2016 when you’d like the studio time (or equivalent alternative video/audio formats if that’s preferable).
Budget for the £5,000 (excluding accommodation which is provided).
Those shortlisted would be invited to take part in a phone/skype interview on 26th January 2016 and selection would be confirmed by mid February 2016.
