Choreography 29. The International Competition for Choreographers di Hannover diretto da Ed Wubbe
Concorso per giovani coreografi sotto i 35 anni. In giuria direttori di prestigiose compagnie. Premi in denaro e tre premi di produzione che permetteranno ai vincitori di creare coreografie per lo Scapino Ballett di Rotterdam, il Bundesjugendballett di Amburgo fondato da John Neumeier e la Gauthier Dance di Stoccarda. Storia e rilevanza:
The Ballet Society Hannover e.V. organizza da 28 anni questo concorso europeo per coreografi unico. In questo lungo periodo, la manifestazione ha raggiunto una posizione di rilievo nel panorama della danza nazionale e internazionale. L’importanza di questo evento nella scena della danza internazionale è testimoniato non è solo dalla giuria che annovera personaggi famosi della scena internazionale, ma anche dal fatto, che ogni anno si candidano circa 160 coreografi provenienti da 45 nazioni. La collaborazione con il Goethe Institute ha aumentato significativamente le candidature in tutto il mondo.
Obiettivo di questo concorso internazionale è fornire una piattaforma per giovani coreografi di talento per emergere. Ci sono molte competizioni di danza in giro, ma solo pochissime piattaforme nel mondo dove a nuovi coreografi di talento viene data l’opportunità di essere notati.
Requisiti e modalità di candidatura:
The International Competition for Choreographers “Choreography 29” si svolgerà il 27 e il 28 giugno 2015 a Hanover presso il Theater Am Aegi, Aegidientorplatz 2, 30159 Hannover. Per candidarsi è necessario compilare un apposito form (scaricabile su http://ballettgesellschaft.squarespace.com/application-criteria/) entro il 30 aprile 2015 e inviarlo al seguente indirizzo postale Ballett Gesellschaft Hannover e.V., Im Hückedal 19 D, 30974 Wennigsen-Holtensen, Germany o alla mail info@ballettgesellschaft.de.
Per prendere parte al concorso tutti i partecipanti, coreografi e danzatori, devono aver completato il loro percorso di formazione professionale. I coreografi non devono avere più di 35 anni. Possono essere presentati brani tra i 5 e i 12 minuti. Gli assoli non possono essere interpretati dallo stesso coreografo. Soggetto e musica sono liberi. Queste poche disposizioni consentono al concorso di essere aperto a tutti gli stili. I brani saranno giudicati in base all’uso creativo di tempo e spazio, sull’interpretazione di un’idea se sul modo in cui si usano gli interpreti.
Direttore artistico del Concorso: Ed Wubbe, direttore dello Scapino Ballet di Rotterdam, è il direttore del concorso dal 2004.

Il concorso prevede otto premi:
- Primo premio: € 6.000
- Secondo premio: € 3.000
- terzo premio: € 2.000

- Scapino Ballett Rotterdam: Poduction Award – Al vincitore del Premio Produzione Scapino viene data l’opportunità di creare una coreografia per lo Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, che verrà presentato il festival internazionale Twools.
- Bundesjugendballett Hamburg: Production Award – Al vincitore di questo premio viene data la possibilità di creare una coreografia per il Bundesjugendballett di Amburgo, fondato da John Neumeier nel 2011 e che promuove giovani di talento.
- Gauthier Dance/Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart Production Award – Nel 2014, per la prima volta, Eric Gauthier ha sponsizzato il Production Award Gauthier Dance/Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart.

History and relevance:
The Ballet Society Hannover e.V. has been organising this unique European contest for choreographers for the past 28 years. Over this long period, the event has achieved a prominent position in the national and International dance scene. Testament to the importance of this event in the International dance-scene is not only the renowned jury, but also the fact, that every year approximately 160 choreographers from 45 nations apply. Our co-operation with the Goethe Institute significantly increased the worldwide appeal.
It is the goal of this International contest to provide a platform for young choreography talents to flourish. There are many dance competitions around, but only very few worldwide platforms, where new choreography talent is given an opportunity, to be noticed. The competition enables young choreographers to present themselves to a renowned expert jury and to experience the advantages of professional stage technology. It also provides them with the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues and the audience.
Eligibilty Requirements:
The International Competition for Choreographers “Choreography 29” in Hanover takes place on June 27th and 28th 2015, Theater Am Aegi, Aegidientorplatz 2, 30159 Hannover. In order to take part in the competition, all participants, choreographers, and dancers have to have completed professional training. Choreographers must not be older than 35 years. The length of the performance is limited between 5 and 12 minutes. A solo ballet cannot be interpreted by the choreographer him/herself. Subject and music are free of choice. These few stipulations enable the contest to be open to all styles of presentation. Judging concentrates only on the creative use of space and time, the interpretation of an idea, and the way this is adopted by the performers.

- Scapino Ballett Rotterdam: Poduction Award– The winner of the Scapino Production Award is given the opportunity to create a choreography for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, which will be shown during Twools.
- Bundesjugendballett Hamburg: Production Award– The winner of this award is to create a choreography with the “Bundesjugendballet” in Hamburg, which was founded by John Neumeier in 2011 and promotes gifted youths.
- Gauthier Dance/Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart Production Award – In 2014, for the first time, Eric Gauthier was sponsor of the Production Award Gauthier Dance/Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart.
