La Camargo Foundation a Cassis, il Fondo Regionale di Arte Contemporanea Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (Frac) e il Goethe-Institut di Marsiglia stanno supportando assieme un progetto internazionale condotto da un team di artisti e studiosi. Il team selezionato, composto da due a quattro membri sarà ospitato al Frac e alla Camargo nel 2021/2022.
Questo programma di residenza interdisciplinare si focalizza in diverse dimensioni dell’area metropolitana di Marsiglia. Il nuovo asse metropolitano Aix-Marseille-Provence è situato sul Mare Mediterraneo con un mix di aree urbane e siti naturali. In quanto seconda maggiore metropoli francese conta quasi 2 milioni di abitanti dislocati in 92 municipalità e con larghe iniquità. Questo programma offre la possibilità di inserirsi in residenza in due organizzazioni artistiche poste in due zone molto diverse di questa area metropolitana. Il focus del progetto scelto dovrebbe coinvolgere alcuni ricercatori artistici tenendo conto dei due diversi contesti / territori della residenza
Lo scopo principale della residenza è stimolare le relazioni e gli scambi culturali fra gli studiosi e gli artisti provenienti dal bacino del Mediterraneo e dell’Europa, al fine di sostenere lo sviluppo di progetti interdisciplinari in interfaccia tra ricerca scientifica e arte con l’obiettivo comune di una produzione. Quindi nelle loro proposte i candidati devono dimostrare il loro chiaro interesse per il “crossover” e l’interscambio tra arti e scienze, sulla base delle proprie ricerche e dei propri percorsi.
Ammissibilità:
- La residenza è aperta a equipe di artisti di tutte le discipline creative e a ricercatori/critici/curatori che lavorano con un approccio artistico o sperimentale. I candidati devono essere professionisti e attivi lavoratori nel settore delle arti.
- Almeno un gruppo deve essere residente in Germania.
- La preferenza verrà data ai teams che includono membri dei paesi mediterranei (inclusa la Regione Provence-Alpes-Côte-D’Azur, i paesi europei e i paesi della regione mediterranea del sud e dell’Est.
- Il team può essere composto da due a quattro membri. Esso può candidarsi con una proposta congiunta poichè le candidature di singoli artisti e ricercatori non sono ammesse
Supporto:
- Uno stipendio forfettario di € 2.500 al progetto selezionato per coprire le spese associate alla residenza (incluse le spese di viaggio e i costi di produzione).
- I residenti saranno ospitati dall’organizzazione alla Camargo Foundation a Cassis e al Frac a Marsiglia.
La residenza dura dalle 4 alle 6 settimane in relazione alle necessità progettuali, e suddivise tra Marsiglia e Cassis. Essa può esser svolgersi in diverse fasi in un periodo lungo fino a 2 anni. Le residenze si terranno tra gennaio 2021 e dicembre 2022.

The Camargo Foundation in Cassis, the Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (Frac), and the Goethe-Institut in Marseille are coming together to support one international project led by a team of artists and scholars. The selected team, composed of two to four members, will be hosted both at Frac and Camargo in 2021/2022
This interdisciplinary residency programme focuses on the different dimensions of the Marseille metropolitan area. The newly established Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Area is located on the Mediterranean Sea with a mix of urban areas and unique natural sites. As the second largest metropolitan area in France, it has nearly 2 million inhabitants in 92 municipalities, with large inequalities. This programme offers the possibility of a joint residency in two art organisations located in two very different parts of the metropolitan area. The focus of the selected project should involve some artistic research taking into account the two different settings/territories of the residency.
The main purpose of the residency is to stimulate relations and cultural exchanges between scholars and artists of the Mediterranean Basin and Europe, in order to support the development of projects at the interface between scientific research and the arts with the aim of a common production. In their proposals, applicants should therefore clearly demonstrate their interest in interdisciplinary crossovers and exchanges between arts and sciences, on the basis of their research and itineraries.
Eligibility:
- The residency is open to teams of artists in all creative disciplines and researchers/critics/curators working with experimental or artistic approaches. Applicants must be professionals actively working in the arts.
- At least one group member must be a resident of Germany.
- Preference will be given to teams that include a member from a Mediterranean country (including the Region Provence-Alpes-Côte-D’Azur, European countries, as well as countries of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean regions).
- The team can be composed of two to four members. The team should apply with a joint proposal and artists or researchers applying as individuals are not eligible.
Support:
- An overall one-time stipend of €2500 will be provided to the selected project to cover expenditures associated with the residency (including travel expenses and production costs).
- The residents will be hosted by the receiving organisations at the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, and at Frac in Marseille.
The residency spans 4-6 weeks according to the needs of the project, divided between Marseille and Cassis. The residency can be done in different phases over a period of up to 2 years. The residencies will take place between January 2021 and December 2022.
