BIVDF (creato nel 2016) è una piattaforma per la diffusione, l’apprendimento e lo sviluppo del lavoro artistico con focus sul corpo e sulla tecnologia utilizzando la Video Dance come mezzo di espressione. Le pratiche artistiche performative contemporanee costituiscono spazi privilegiati per il lavoro interdisciplinare innovativo, la condivisione e il dialogo, così come la contestazione e la tensione, che decostruiscono i confini delle performance tradizionali e creano nuovi paradigmi di pratiche e discorsi emergenti nel mondo di oggi. La sfida che proponiamo è una riflessione sui concetti di “performance” e “performatività” attraverso progetti che includono l’articolazione della conoscenza, sfumando i confini tra arti, discipline e tecnologie, concentrandosi sulle pratiche quotidiane e contemporanee.
Ogni anno il Braga International Video Dance Festival seleziona i video più belli da proiettare a Braga. Da questa selezione la giuria invitata sceglie il Miglior Video Dance. Poiché sono stati presentati molti video straordinari, quest’anno abbiamo deciso di aprire tre categorie: Video Dance, Short Video Dance e New Creators. Tutte queste categorie saranno premiate dalla giuria. Il pubblico presente al Festival, il 28 aprile 2023, potrà inoltre scegliere il proprio video preferito, che riceverà il premio Audience´s Choice. I risultati saranno annunciati il 29 aprile, Giornata mondiale della danza.
In sette edizioni abbiamo ricevuto centinaia di candidature da 40 Paesi diversi.

Progetti ammissibili
1. Possono candidarsi creativi di qualsiasi nazionalità.
2. La partecipazione può avvenire individualmente o da parte di collettivi artistici (formali o informali), a condizione che la domanda sia presentata da un rappresentante di tale collettivo, che ne è responsabile.
3. Non si applicano limitazioni al numero massimo di proposte.
4. Per la categoria Nuovi creatori, possono candidarsi solo gli studenti delle scuole superiori o delle università residenti in Portogallo, con un documento comprovante (iscrizione o carta dello studente).
Requisiti video
1. Sono accettate opere audiovisive, con coreografie originali o riprodotte, filmate o videoregistrate. Immagine e movimento devono dialogare artisticamente, senza che sia possibile separare un linguaggio dall’altro.
2. File MP4/MOV, H.264, preferibilmente in formato 1080/25p (1920×1080) o 720/25p (1280×720).
3. Non c’è limite di video per autori/produttori.
4. Non sono accettati video di spettacoli o performance teatrali.
Candidature
1. La candidatura deve essere effettuata attraverso la piattaforma filmfreeway – https://filmfreeway.com/BRAGAINTERNATIONALVIDEO DANCEFESTIVAL
2. Il periodo di candidatura per tutte le categorie va dal 5 novembre 2022 al 5 aprile 2023, con i seguenti periodi di presentazione e seguenti costi di iscrizione per le categorie Short Video Dance e Video Dance:
Superearly Bird – dal 5 al 30 novembre, 16 euro;
EarlyBird – dal 1° al 31 dicembre – 22 euro;
Regular – dal 1° gennaio al 15 marzo – 32 euro;
Last Chance – dal 16 marzo al 5 aprile – 40 euro.
3. La categoria New Creators ha un costo di di iscrizione di 5 euro.
4. I risultati dei video selezionati vengono comunicati fino al 10 aprile 2023, direttamente ai candidati, via e-mail, e diffusi successivamente dai media.
4. Le scadenze indicate devono essere rigorosamente rispettate, pena l’esclusione.

Braga International Video Dance Festival
BIVDF (created in 2016) is a platform for diffusion, learning and development of artistic work with focus on the body and technology using Video Dance as means of expression. Contemporary artistic performance practices constitute privileged spaces for innovative interdisciplinary work, sharing and dialogue, as well as contestation and tension, which deconstruct the boundaries of traditional performances and create new paradigms of emerging practices and discourses in today’s world. The challenge we propose is a reflection on the concepts of “performance” and “performativity” through projects that include the articulation of knowledge, blurring boundaries between arts, disciplines and technologies, focusing on everyday and contemporary practices.
Every year Braga International Video Dance Festival selects the most awesome videos to screen in Braga. From that selection the invited jury selects the Best Video Dance. Because we have so many amazing videos been submitted we decided to open three categories this year – Video Dance, Short Video Dance and New Creators. All this categories will be awarded by the jury. The audience present at the Festival, on april 28th 2023, will also be able to choose their favorite video, which will receive the Audience´s Choice award. The results wil be announced on april 29th, World Dance Day.
Over seven editions we received hundreds of submissions from 40 different countries.

Eligible Entities
1. Creatives of any nationality may apply.
2. Participation can be done individually or by artistic collectives (formal or informal), provided that the application is presented by a representative of that collective, who is responsible for it.
3. Limitation on the maximum number of proposals does not apply.
4. In the New Creators category, only high school or university students resident in Portugal can apply, with proof (registration or student card).
Video Requirements
1. Audiovisual pieces, with original or reenacted choreographies, filmed or videotaped, are accepted. Image and movement must have an artistic dialogue, where it is not possible to separate one language from the other.
2. MP4/MOV file, H.264, preferably 1080/25p (1920×1080) or 720/25p (1280×720) format.
3. There is no limit of videos by authors/producers.
4. Videos of shows or stage performances are not accepted.
Submissions

2. The application period for all categories runs from november 5, 2022 to April 5, 2023, with the following submission periods and values for the Short Video Dance and Video Dance categories:
Superearly Bird – november 5th to November 30th, 16 euros;
EarlyBird – 1st to 31st December – 22 euros; Regular – January 1st to March 15th – 32 euros; Last Chance – March 16th to April 5th– 40 euros.
3. The New Creators category has a regular submission value – 5 euros.
4. The results of the selected videos are communicated until April 10th, 2023, directly to the candidates, by email, and disseminated by the media afterwards.
4. The referred deadlines must be strictly complied with, under penalty of exclusion.
