I tre giorni del Bayimba International Festival sono diventati un importante punto di riferimento per le arti. Ogni terzo week-end di settembre Kampala prende vita diventando una vibrante e movimentata città animata da artisti sia rinomati che emergenti nel campo del teatro della danza del cinema della musica e della visual art.
Dalla sua prima edizione nel 2008, un’ampia varietà di artisti noti e meno noti dall’Uganda dall ‘Africa dell’est e oltre hanno dato spettacolo nei diversi teatri del Bayimba International Festival. La sua 9° edizione si terrà dal 16 al 18 settembre 2016 nel centro della città di Kampala, Uganda, portando a vivere una vera esperienza delle arti in tutte le sue forme.
Artisti di tutte le discipline sono invitati a mandare le loro candidature che saranno accettate fino al 30 Aprile 2016. E’ richiesto il seguente materiale (e nel caso di invio per mail si prega di non eccedere i 5MB):
- formulario compilato in tutte le parti (da scaricare)
- CV/biografia (massimo 800 parole) con foto recenti.
- Presentazione del proprio lavoro (in caso di musica o film: 1 o 2 registrazioni su CD, DVD o MP3)
- Scheda tecnica
Si darà conferma della ricezione della candidatura. Si prega di notare che a causa dell’elevato numero di candidature gli organizzatori del Festival daranno risposta solo agli artisti scelti.
Un modesto cachet verrà pagato ad ogni artista partecipante. Per gli artisti provenienti al di fuori dell’Uganda viene offerta sistemazione, coperti i trasporti locali e dati i per diem. Incoraggiamo gli artisti stranieri a cercare supporto per le spese di viaggio, per il Visa e per le spese assicurative. Gli artisti selezionati riceveranno un formale invito per facilitare la ricerca di fondi.

Bayimba International Festival. Call for Artists 2016
The three-day Bayimba International Festival has become an important benchmark for the consumption of the finest arts. Every third week of September, Kampala comes alive as a vibrant and eventful city when an unparalleled feast of music, dance, theatre, film, and visual arts from renowned and upcoming artists is brought to Kampala.
Since its first edition in 2008, a wide variety of known and upcoming artists from Uganda, East Africa and beyond have performed at the different stages of the Bayimba International Festival. The 9th edition of this acclaimed festival is scheduled to take place from 16th to 18th September 2015 in the city centre of Kampala, Uganda, bringing to life a true experience of the arts in all its forms.
Artists of all disciplines are invited to submit their applications. Applications are accepted until 30th April 2016. You are requested to submit the following information (in case you submit your application by email, please limit your submission to 5MB):
- A completed entry form (download)
- A profile/short biography (max. 800 words) with recent picture(s).
- A presentation of your work (in case of music/film: one or two of your recordings on CD, DVD or MP3)
- A technical rider/data sheet
We will confirm receipt of your submission and assess your application. Please note that due to the many submissions received, we will only be able to respond to successful applicants.
A modest performance fee will be offered to participating artists. For artists from outside Uganda modest accommodation, local transport and per diem will be provided. Artists from outside Uganda are encouraged to source for support to cover travel, visa and insurance expenses. Artists selected will receive a formal invitation to facilitate the solicitation for such support.
