La Rosie Kay Dance Company, con sede a Birmingham nel Regno Unito, cerca 9 danzatori e/o danzatrici contemporanei forti e stimolanti per una versione di teatrodanza di Romeo + Juliet. Lo spettacolo debutterà a marzo 2021 al Birmingham Hippodrome (dove la RKDC è Compagnia Associata). Ambientato nell’oggi, questo Romeo + Giulietta esplora gli alti e bassi di due gruppi di giovani con una rivalità di lunga data e con un amore che conquista e divide.
Si cercano:
- danzatori e danzatrici del Sud est asiatico
- danzatori danzatrici di colore
- danzatori e danzatrici bianchi/con etnia mista
Requisiti necessari per i danzatori:
- I candidati devono aver completato la formazione coreutica professionale oppure avere un equivalente livello.
- forte capacità in uno o più dei seguenti ambiti: danza contemporanea, balletto, street dance, breakdance, hip hop, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Bollywood, Bhangra.
- esperienza di scena
- forte fisicità, grande resistenza
- buona abilità attoriale
- buona e positiva attitudine al lavoro di gruppo, gran lavoratore e volontà nelcontribuire ad una sana atmosfera anche in tournée
- essere maggiori di 18 anni
- avere il permesso legale di lavorare in UK. La RKDC non è abilitata a sponsorizzare il Visa.

Contratto di lavoro:
- Il progetto è finanziato ed è programmato; tuttavia le date potrebbero subire variazioni in relazione all’attuale situazione Covid-19 e relative regole governative. Tutte le prove e la produzione si svolgeranno a Birmingham.
- Prove: dal 1 al 18 dicembre 2020, dal 18 gennaio al 5 febbraio 2021 e dall’8 al 19 maggio 2021
- Produzione debutto: dal 22 al 24 marzo 2021
- Tournée: settimane da confermare tra il 25 marzo e il 1 maggio 2021
- Contratto che rispetta le Equity rates / Independent Theatre Council Ethical Manager : £ 494 alla settimana per il periodo delle prove e £ 520 alla settimana per le tournées oltre alle ferie pagate, alloggio per le prove e durante le trasferte, spese di viaggio e diaria.

South Asian, black, white and mixed ethnicity dancers required for a new, contemporary, Birmingham based dance theatre version of Romeo + Juliet.

When: Online first round audition. Rehearsals Dec 2020 – Mar 2021. Touring Mar – May 2021.

Rosie Kay Dance Company are looking for nine strong, exciting, diverse and unique dancers for a new, contemporary, Birmingham based dance theatre version of Romeo + Juliet. The show will premiere at Birmingham Hippodrome (where RKDC is an Associate Company) in March 2021. Set today, this Romeo + Juliet explores the ups and downs of two groups of young people, as they negotiate the police and long held rivalry, with a love that conquers and divides.
We are looking for:
- South Asian male and female dancers
- Black male and female dancers
- White/mixed ethnicity male and female dancers
Dancers need these qualities:
- Applicants must have completed full time professional dance training or have an equivalent level of dance experience.
- Strong dance skill in one or several of the following: contemporary dance, ballet, street dance, breakdance, hip hop, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Bollywood, Bhangra.
- Performance experience
- Fit, strong and high stamina levels
- Good acting ability
- Team player
- Positive attitude, hardworking and willing to contribute to a healthy, fun touring company atmosphere
- Applicants must be aged 18 or above

Work contract:
- The project is funded and scheduled however dates may have to change depending on the current Covid-19 situation and government regulation. All rehearsals and production will take place in Birmingham.
- Rehearsals: various R&D days 1 – 18 Dec 2020, 18 Jan – 5 Feb 2021, 8 – 19 Mar 2021
- Production and premiere: 22 – 24 Mar 2021
- Touring: part weeks to be confirmed over 25 Mar to 1 May 2021
- Equity/Independent Theatre Council Ethical Manager Contract: £494 per week for rehearsals and £520 per week for touring plus holiday pay, rehearsal accommodation, all travel and accommodation on tour plus per diem.
