Room 2 Manoeuvre sta cercando un danzatore per prove e performances di Squish Squared, un duetto di danza contemporanea. Squish Squared fu sviluppato per i Commonwealth Games 2014 Culture Programme e sarà rimontato per il Fringe di Edimburgo in agosto 2015.
Si tratta di una performance di 30 minuti con alta fisicità e humour che si svolge all’interno di un campo da squash.
I candidati devono dimostrare abilità e un alto livello di danza contemporanea e possedere minimo 3 anni di esperienza professionale. Dovrebbero anche avere esperienza di partnering e contact, creatività nell’approccio al lavoro e capacità recitative. Saranno avvantaggiati i candidati che abbiano qualche esperienza nell’acro-balance, lavorando in altezza.
Anche se Squish Squared è un pezzo breve è fisicamente impegnativo e verrà eseguito due volte al giorno durante il Fringe. I candidati devono essere in buone condizioni fisiche con corrispondente resistenza. Saranno inoltre chiamati a svolgere alcuni impegni promozionali con la compagnia, al fine di accrescere la divulgazione della pièce all’interno del Fringe.
Periodo di prove: dal 3 al 7 agosto e dal 10 al 13 agosto a Edimburgo. Zona esatta da confermare.
Performances dal 14 al 23 agosto (no il 18) presso The Grange Club, Stockbridge, Edinburgh.
Retribuzione : £ 480.00 alla settimana più copertura del viaggio di ritorno. La compagnia provvede alla sistemazione durante il periodo a Edinburgo. I candidati devono avere il permesso di lavorare in UK.
Audizione: martedì 8 luglio 2015 dalle 12.00 alle 17.00 a Edimburgo.

Room 2 Manoeuvre (UK) – Male, Closes: June 26, 2015
Room 2 Manoeuvre is seeking 1 male dancer for the rehearsal and performance of Squish Squared, a male contemporary dance duet. Squish Squared was developed for the Commonwealth Games 2014 Culture Programme and will now be re-mounted for the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2015. It is a highly physical and humorous 30 minute performance, which takes place within a squash court.
Applicants must demonstrate a high degree of contemporary dance ability and possess a minimum of 3 years professional working experience. Applicants should also have experience of partnering and contact work, working creatively with task based processes and have a degree of acting ability. It would be advantageous that applicants have some experience of acro-balance work e.g. Working as a base and standing two high.
Although a short piece, Squish Squared is physically demanding and will be performed twice, daily during it’s run at the Fringe. Applicants should be in good physical condition with matching stamina. Applicants will also be require to undertake some amount of promotional duties with the company, to raise awareness of the show the within the Fringe environment.
Rehearsal period from 3rd – 7th Aug, 10th – 13th Aug. This will take place in Edinburgh. Exact location tbc.
Performances from 14th – 23rd Aug (not 18th Aug). Performances will take place at The Grange Club, Stockbridge, Edinburgh.
Fees and expenses: £480.00/wk plus return travel. The company will provide accommodation while in Edinburgh. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
