Julia James-Griffiths / JJG Dance cerca un danzatore con esperienza per la produzione e debutto di The Box, un lavoro di teatrodanza che esplora l’impatto che può avere la depressione sull’individuo e al modo in cui la società ne risponde. La produzione finale e il debutto del lavoro si svolgeranno a maggio 2018 e l’inizio della tournée dovrebbe verificarsi a ottobre 2018.
I danzatori dovrebbero avere i seguenti requisiti:
- forte lavoro di partnering e grande capacità nell’improvvisazione
- veloci nell’apprendimento del materiale e avere una buona attenzione al dettaglio
- notevole tecnica contemporanea
- buona capacità teatrale, uso della voce ed espressività
- essere un buon componente di squadra
- avere un sincero interesse per il principale soggetto che è la sanità mentale/depressione, e avere conoscenza o esperienza diretta è auspicabile. Questo progetto contempla anche dei momenti di workshop con coloro che hanno esperienza di problemi inerenti la sanità mentale; pertanto è gradita l’esperienza nel lavoro con gruppi di persone vulnerabili in seminari pubblici.
- Il candidato ideale ha base in Scozia ma non è indispensabile.
Disponibilità. Il danzatore deve essere libero nei seguenti periodi:
- settimana che inizia il 7 maggio 2018
- settimana che inizia il 14 maggio 2018
- settimana che inizia il 21 maggio 2018
- mese di ottobre 2018.
Pagamento secondo le ITC / Equity minimum rates.
L’audizione si svolgerà a Edimburgo, in Scozia, venerdì 6 aprile 2018 dalle ore 10:00 alle 17:00.
Per candidarsi è necessario mandare entro sabato 17 marzo 2018 una email a julia@jjgdance.com con lettera di presentazione in cui sia descritta la propria pratica e il motivo per cui si è interessati a essere parte di questo progetto oltre al proprio curriculum vitae e allo showreel.
Julia James-Griffiths / JJG Dance Audition
Julia James-Griffiths / JJG Dance is seeking an experienced male dancer for the final production and premiere of The Box– a contemporary dance theatre piece that explores the impact depression can have on an individual, and how our society responds to it. The final production and premiere of the work run during May of this year and the opening tour of the work are due to begin in October of this year.
Dancers need to have the following qualities:
- Strong partner work and improvisational skills
- Quick at learning material and good attention to detail
- Strong contemporary dance technique
- Good theatrical skills/use of voice and expression
- Team player
- A genuine interest in the subject matter of mental health/depression is essential, and an understanding and/or experience is desirable. This project also involves delivering movement workshops for those with experience of mental health issues; therefore experience of working with vulnerable groups in a public workshop setting is desirable.
- Ideally, applicants will be based in Scotland, but those out-with will also be considered.
Availability:
The dancer must be available for the following periods:
Week beginning 7th May
Week beginning 14th May
Week beginning 21st May
As well as for the month of October.
Rate of pay: ITC / Equity minimum

When: Friday 6th April 2018 (10 – 5 pm)
