Humanhood terrà un’audizione per danzatrici e danzatori professionisti, ma anche per apprendisti, da integrare nella compagnia per la prima fase di lavoro (R&D ricerca e sviluppo) della nuova produzione Torus e per altri progetti. La compagnia crea coreografie molto fisiche ed intricate in cui è richiesta maturità e un approccio aperto al processo del lavoro.
La compagnia ha sede a Birmingham e a Barcellona, dove il processo di ricerca verrà sviluppato. Candidati professionisti ed apprendisti devono avere una profonda comprensione della qualità del movimento, con una speciale attenzione alla fluidità e al movimento articolare. Inoltre i candidati devono avere la volontà di esplorare fisicamente nuovi terreni ed essere aperti e reattivi alle proposte guida del co-direttore della compagnia.
A tutti i candidati è consigliato di familiarizzare col lavoro della compagnia prima di partecipare all’audizione.
Il periodo di R&D di Torus sarà sviluppato in 3 periodi separati:
- 3 settimane in novembre 2017
- 4 settimane in febbraio e marzo 2018.
- Sharing del work-in-progress: 23 marzo al Patrick Centre a Birmingham.
Le date di creazione, dopo la fase iniziale, saranno discusse coi danzatori scelti durante R&D. Si prega di notare che ulteriori date possono essere aggiunte per altri progetti della compagnia.
Sia per danzatori professionisti che per gli apprendisti il lavoro è retribuito.
L’audizione avrà luogo il 21 e il 22 agosto 2017 a Birmingham, nel Regno Unito, presso DanceXchange in Thorp St.

Humanhood Audition (UK)
Humanhood is auditioning for outstanding female and male professional dancers as well as apprentice dancers to join the company for the first phase R&D of their new production Torus as well as other company projects. The company creates highly physical and intricate choreography which requires a mature and open approach to the work.
The company is both based in Birmingham and Barcelona, where the research process will be developed. Professional and Apprentice applicants should have a deep understanding of movement quality, with special attention to fluid and articulated movement. Additionally, applicants should be willing to explore new physical terrains and be open and responsive to the propositions and guidance of the company’s Co-artistic Directors.
All applicants are advised to familiarise themselves with the company and its work before attending the audition.
Torus R&D will be developed in 3 separate periods:
- 3 weeks in November 2017
- 4 weeks in February and March 2018.
- Sharing of the work-in-progress: 23rd March at The Patrick Centre, Birmingham.
Creation dates following this initial phase will be discussed with the successful dancers during the R&D. Please note extra dates may be added for additional company projects.
This position is paid for both professional and apprentice dancers.
