Corey Baker Dance sta per creare il suo nuovo show, Phone Box, un energico e vibrante assolo per esterno. Un performer atletico agirà con un telefono rosso, iconico e vintage. Phone Box avrà il debutto in maggio 2016 all’ International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB) 2016 e al Swingamajig Festival oltre ad altre date in altri festival in tour nel Regno Unito.

Corey Baker Dance (CBD) cerca un danzatore uomo, contemporaneo, professionista, con grande presenza scenica, eccellenti capacità creative, fisico robusto e resistenza; questi sono tutti requisiti necessari. Si vuole che il danzatore si arrampichi sul box telefonico e pertanto i candidati devono essere disposti a correre questo rischio e non devono avere paura delle altezze.

Il direttore Artistico Corey Baker sta cercando qualcuno che sia fecondo nelle idee, nell’improvvisazione e collaborativo nel creare insieme questo nuovo lavoro.

Corey ha come scopo di continuare a lavorare con gli artisti attraverso diversi progetti del CBD. Phone Box è stato creato per spazi esterni e per spazi inusuali dunque il performer deve essere a proprio agio e aver voglia di lavorare in spazi non tradizionali. Precedente esperienza in tal senso e nello svolgere tournée è desiderata.

Date e retribuzione

I candidati devono il permesso di lavorare in UK ed essere disponibili per tutta la durata del contratto secondo le date riportate di seguito (si prega di prendere nota che le date non sono al momento tutte confermate al 100%)

• Ricerca e sviluppo –  Workshop: 3-4 marzo 2016: DanceXchange, Birmingham
• creazione Phone Box: 4-9 Aprile 2016, 1 settimana: DanceXchange, Birmingham
• spettacoli al Festival: 1-2 e 5-7 Maggio 2016, IDFB 2016 (inclusis Swingamajig): settimana 1
• 11-16 Aprile 2016, settimana 2: DanceXchange, Birmingham
• 25-29 Aprile 2016, settimana 3: DanceXchange, Birmingham
• 10-14 Maggio 2016, IDFB 2016
• IDFB 2016: settimana 3 (soggetto a finanziamento)
• 21-22 Maggio 2016 Norfolk e Norwich Festival
• 29-30 Maggio 2016 Salisbury Festival
• 2 luglio 2016 Greenwich e Docklands International Festival
• 19, 20 o 21 Agosto 2016 (date da confermare, Just So Festival

Retribuzione e spese:

• £ 540 alla settimana per le settimane di creazione (3 settimane)
• £ 660 per ogni settimana di spettacolo (2 settimane)
• Retribuzione e spese: £80 per periodo Ricerca e sviluppo e per i giorni di workshop (2 giorni)

Nota: alloggi con angolo cottura saranno forniti a Birmingham, oltre a 3 biglietti del treno. I Per diems sono inclusi nello stipendio e non saranno versati ulteriori per diems. Tour futuro: soggetto a nuovo contratto da confermare in base alle date.

Cory Baker Dance (UK)

Corey Baker Dance is creating a new outdoor show, ‘Phone Box’, an energetic and vibrant solo. Featuring an iconic vintage red telephone box, an athletic performer will carry out an exhibition of exciting manoeuvres. ‘Phone Box’ will premiere in May 2016 at both International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB) 2016 and Swingamajig Festival and other confirmed UK festivals. It is intended that the show will then go on to tour the UK.

Corey Baker Dance (CBD) seeks a professional male dancer with a strong performance presence. Excellent creative skills, robust physical strength and stamina are all essential criteria. It is the intention that the performer will climb up and perform on the phone box, so applicants must be willing to take this risk and not be afraid of heights.

Artistic Director Corey Baker is looking for someone that will be fruitful with ideas, improvising, and character development when collaborating with him on creating this brand new work. Creating a solo work can be intimate and demanding so all applicants must be ready for this challenge.

Corey aims to continue to work with performers across several CBD projects so the desire to work broadly across Corey Baker Dance is a must. ‘Phone Box’ is being created for outdoor places and unusual spaces, and so performers must be willing to and be comfortable with handling the demands of non-traditional work settings. Previous experience in outdoor work and touring is desirable.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be available for the duration of the contract as below. (Please note, dates are not 100% confirmed at the time of writing, and subject to minor amends).

• Phone Box creation: 04-09 April 2016, Week 1: DanceXchange, Birmingham
• Festival Performances: 01-02 and 05-07 May 2016, IDFB 2016 (includes Swingamajig): Week 1
• 11-16 April 2016, Week 2: DanceXchange, Birmingham
• 25-29 April 2016, Week 3: DanceXchange, Birmingham
• 10-14 May 2016, IDFB 2016: Week 2
• IDFB 2016: Week 3 (subject to funding)
