Corey Baker Dance sta creando due nuovi spettacoli emozionanti, Kapa Haka Tale e Haka Day Out, che saranno in tour nel Regno Unito e contestualizzati nell’ambito della Coppa del Mondo di rugby (RWC) .

Haka Day Out, è uno spettacolo all’aperto sulla forma d’arte ‘Kapa Haka’ dei Maori, che girerà per i festival del Regno Unito e nelle “Fan Zone” nelle città ospitanti la RWC, come un evento culturale gratuito diurno.

Kapa Haka Tale è una produzione teatrale a serata intera, affascinante, accattivante per il pubblico e che riporta in vita il mito Maori. La produzione sarà in tour nei teatri vicini alle Fan Zones.

Corey Baker è alla ricerca di 4 danzatori contemporanei e 4 performers addestrati all’kapa haka che lavoreranno insieme a Corey Baker e ai collaboratori.

I danzatori contemporanei devono avere esperienza come ballerini professionisti, una forte presenza, ottime capacità creative, robusta forza fisica e resistenza. Devono avere inoltre interesse per il tema del lavoro e il desiderio di imparare Kapa Haka. Haka Day Out è creato per spazi esterni e spazi insoliti, così che i performers devono essere disposti a stare a loro agio con le esigenze del lavoro in spazi non convenzionali. E’ auspicabile aver avuto precedenti esperienze in lavori all’aperto. Tutti i candidati devono avere il permesso per lavorare nel Regno Unito per la durata del contratto.

La compagnia cerca inoltre 4 performers addestrati all’kapa haka; se questo è di vostro interesse si prega di contattare la compagnia via email  poiché i criteri sono notevolmente diversi.

Retribuzioni:

• £ 400 a settimana per le settimane di creazione
• £ 160 indennità di alloggio durante la creazione (artisti non di Birmingham)
• £ 150 a spettacolo al di fuori del periodo di tournée
• £ 550 per settimana per il periodo di tournée
• Viaggi, alloggio + Per Diem previsto per le date del tour al di fuori della sede

L’audizione per i danzatori contemporanei si terrà giovedì 30 aprile 2015 dalle 10 alle 17 a Birmingham, DanceXchange, e a Londra sabato 9 maggio 2015 dalle 10 alle 18. Ci sarà un call-back domenica 10 maggio 2015, dalle 10 alle 18 a Londra.

Corey Baker Dance is creating two new exciting shows, Kapa Haka Tale, and Haka Day Out, that will tour the UK wrapped-around and relevant to, the biggest international sporting event of 2015, the Rugby World Cup (RWC).

Haka Day Out, is an outdoor performance showcasing the native Māori art-form ‘Kapa Haka’, touring to UK festivals, and then designated ‘Fan Zones’ across RWC host cities, as a free cultural day-time event.

Kapa Haka Tale is a mesmerizing full-length theatre production, captivating audiences as an enchanting Māori myth is bought to life. Touring to theatres near Fan Zones, allowing crossover of audiences from one event to the other.

Corey Baker Dance is seeking 4 contemporary and 4 kapa haka trained performers to work alongside Corey Baker and collaborators to take part in this inspiring cultural journey and productions.

Contemporary performers must have; experience as a professional dancer, a strong performance presence, excellent creative skills and robust physical strength and stamina. Dancers must have an interest in the theme of the work and a desire to learn kapa haka, the indigenous Māori art form. Haka Day Out is created for outdoor places and unusual spaces, and so performers must be willing to and be comfortable with handling the demands of non-traditional setting work. Previous experience in outdoor work is desirable. All performers must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract as detailed below.

Fees and expenses:

• £400 per week for creation weeks
• £160 accommodation allowance during creation (non Bham artists)
• £150 per performance outside of tour period
• £550 per week for tour period
• Travel, accommodation + PD’s provided (outside of your home city) on tour
