Possono essere proposte una o più opere originali, già in repertorio e che abbiano già debuttato, a tema e contenuto libero. Le opere proposte devono appartenere al campo dell’Arte dal vivo (teatro, danza, performance, e loro declinazioni interdisciplinari).

Tutti i professionisti sono i benvenuti. Non importano la nazionalità, la lingua, l’età.
Sono escluse le formazioni amatoriali.

Gli artisti sono invitati a svolgere una residenza di riqualificazione dell’opera proposta, della durata di 5 giorni. L’opera sarà poi aperta al pubblico durante i 5 giorni successivi alla residenza.

La permanenza dell’artista è richiesta per l’intera durata di Altofest, per un totale di 10 giorni.

Altofest garantisce l’alloggio, il vitto, e un contributo forfettario, nei termini espressi nel regolamento, che trovate accanto al modulo di partecipazione.

Il modulo è il solo strumento preposto alla raccolta delle proposte per Altofest 2019.

COME FUNZIONA ALTOFEST

Altofest è diffuso in differenti quartieri della città di Napoli, con una programmazione che dura 5 giorni, e che va dalle 11:00 alle 24:00.

Gli spazi in cui si svolge Altofest possono essere di varia natura, di diverse dimensioni, all’aperto o al chiuso, in ogni caso e a vario titolo sono tutti spazi abitati e/o curati personalmente dai cittadini coinvolti.

Il programma di Altofest è composto da una selezione di opere originali, ideate per uno spazio formale, compiute e già presentate al pubblico, a tema e contenuto libero, che appartengono al campo dell’Arte dal vivo (teatro, danza, performance, e loro declinazioni interdisciplinari).

Gli interventi artistici sono intervallati da momenti pubblici di discussione, coordinati dall’OCr (Osservatorio Critico) e dedicati all’elaborazione degli interrogativi teorici che emergono dalle pratiche che Altofest attiva; e da occasioni di incontro con gli esperti culturali internazionali invitati ad animare Texture (piattaforma di confronto su visioni e pratiche di progettazione culturale).
Artisti, cittadini ed esperti culturali sono tutti ugualmente invitati a prendere parte a questi momenti pubblici di confronto e discussione.

Dispositivo curatoriale

L’assegnazione del luogo è affidata alla direzione artistica, che mette in relazione la proposta artistica con il cittadino donatore di spazio e con il luogo donato, definendo la linea drammaturgica che disegna Altofest come un’unica opera-sistema.
Con l’obiettivo di moltiplicare le occasioni di confronto, la direzione e il dramaturg di Altofest predispongono un incontro personale con ciascun artista, dedicato all’analisi della riscrittura operata durante la residenza.
Le opere sono selezionate tramite una chiamata pubblica, diffusa a livello internazionale. Dunque la drammaturgia del fest si compone emergendo dalle numerose proposte pervenute.

Partecipazione e programmazione

Tutti gli interventi sono ad accesso gratuito, su prenotazione obbligatoria.
Gli spazi che accolgono le performance di Altofest hanno misure variabili e possono accogliere un numero ridotto di spettatori. Al fine di poter garantire una partecipazione maggiore dei cittadini coinvolti, gli artisti dovranno garantire almeno 2 repliche, e dare la propria disponibilità ad ulteriori repliche concordate con il cittadino “donatore di spazio” e predisposte dalla direzione artistica.
Altofest è da intendere come uno spazio di ricerca e condivisione di pratiche e processi di creazione e come un osservatorio su nuove modalità di relazione e partecipazione dei cittadini al fenomeno artistico. Gli artisti sono perciò caldamente invitati ad assistere a tutte le opere in programma; a partecipare a tutte le attività predisposte da Altofest, coinvolgendo i cittadini; a rendersi disponibili al dialogo con l’Osservatorio Critico; a partecipare ai momenti di confronto con gli Operatori Culturali Internazionali; a lasciare una testimonianza scritta della loro esperienza.

Ospitalità e Residenza

Gli artisti alloggiano e lavorano in uno spazio informale, domestico o quotidiano. Essi sono ospiti dei cittadini “donatori di spazio” o dei residenti che fanno parte della Rete Ospitale.
Gli artisti sono impegnati per un totale di 10 giorni che comprendono un periodo di residenza creativa e l’apertura delle opere al pubblico.
La permanenza dell’Artista è richiesta per l’intera durata di Altofest, per un totale di 10 giorni. Tale permanenza comporta una presenza attiva ed immersiva, necessaria alla compiutezza dei processi attivati da Altofest, parte essenziale della sua struttura.
Gli artisti in programma hanno il compito di mettere in discussione e riqualificare la propria opera affidandosi agli elementi presenti nello spazio che li ospita.
Durante i giorni di residenza, l’Artista coinvolge il donatore di spazio nel processo di analisi e rielaborazione dell’opera, informandolo del processo di riscrittura dello spazio abitato. L’esperienza maturata durante la residenza è poi condivisa pubblicamente con gli spettatori che assisteranno all’opera, durante le brevi discussioni che seguono ciascuna performance.

Condizioni Tecniche

Ogni Artista ha accesso ad un archivio web che raccoglie foto, planimetrie, limiti d’intervento dettati dal donatore di spazio, e tutte le informazioni sul luogo assegnato.
Data la natura domestica e privata degli spazi coinvolti, Altofest non fornisce nessun altro supporto tecnico, oltre quelli già presenti nel luogo assegnato. Nel caso gli artisti abbiano bisogno di ulteriori elementi tecnici e scenografici, devono provvedere da soli al loro reperimento, al loro trasporto, e alla copertura delle relative spese.
In ogni caso gli interventi tecnici devono essere concordati con gli abitanti degli spazi e con la direzione artistica.

Documentazione

I processi di creazione sono documentati con foto e video. Il materiale raccolto fa parte dell’archivio di Altofest, resta di proprietà di Altofest e può essere usato a fini divulgativi e promozionali.

CONDIZIONI GENERALI

Altofest non prevede alcun sostegno oltre a quello che è chiaramente espresso nel bando.

Altofest è un progetto indipendente, basato sulla sua comunità diffusa. Vive del dono dei membri di TeatrInGestAzione sotto forma di tempo, competenze e denaro (nella misura delle proprie possibilità), del dono dei cittadini che offrono spazio e accoglienza, degli artisti che condividono il tempo e lo spazio della propria opera, dei volontari, della partecipazione di alcune sane realtà locali, di professionisti e studiosi, e di operatori culturali, nazionali e internazionali, che offrono le proprie competenze e i propri strumenti intrecciando le proprie visioni con quelle di Altofest.
Le edizioni dal 2017 al 2019, sono in parte sostenute da Funder35/Fondazione con il Sud.
Il fondo è destinato alla strutturazione dell’organizzazione, quindi interamente dedicato all’assunzione di due persone in organico.

Altofest predispone per gli artisti:

Un contributo forfettario di € 500, da considerarsi solo ed esclusivamente come rimborso a copertura delle spese sostenute per la residenza artistica, destinate alla riqualificazione dell’opera. Il contributo sarà corrisposto entro la fine di dicembre 2019, tramite bonifico bancario, dietro presentazione di ricevuta/fattura (in nessun caso il contributo sarà corrisposto in contanti); In nessun caso il contributo erogato potrà essere assunto e considerato come acquisto dello spettacolo;
Un buono pasto giornaliero, che dà diritto ad un pasto gratuito, presso la “cucina sociale” di Altofest. Il buono è valido solo ed esclusivamente dal 4 all’7 luglio 2019, a pranzo;
L’alloggio gratuito in un contesto domestico, presso il donatore di spazio o la Rete Ospitale formata da cittadini, amici e sostenitori;
La cura delle relazioni tra artisti e donatori di spazio e di ospitalità;
La cura delle connessioni possibili fra tutte le presenze in programma e gli Operatori Culturali Internazionali. A tal proposito, gli artisti saranno invitati ad inviarci un dossier sintetico contenente biografia, statement, proposte in distribuzione. Il materiale sarà raccolto in un catalogo digitale e consegnato agli operatori presenti ad Altofest;
Il sostegno promozionale all’opera attraverso tutti i canali informativi di Altofest (diffusione via web, cartacea, a mezzo stampa);
La promozione, durante l’anno in corso, delle attività degli artisti in programma, attraverso i social network con l’hashtag #PEOPLEofALTOFEST;
Altofest si prende cura dell’accessibilità linguistica, per cui tutta la comunicazione è bilingue (ITA-ENG);

Gli artisti si impegnano a rispettare le seguenti condizioni:

Ogni Artista dovrà garantire la propria presenza per l’intera durata di Altofest, dal 28 giugno all’7 luglio 2019, compresi;
Assicurare un minimo di 2 repliche;
L’Artista solleva Altofest dal pagamento degli oneri sociali e assicurativi e si fa carico di eventuali diritti d’autore da corrispondere a terzi;
L’Artista si impegna a utilizzare materiali senza copyright o a pagare diritti d’autore in caso di utilizzo di materiali protetti da copyright;
Altofest non garantisce le spese di viaggio, ma si prende cura di stringere accordi con numerose ambasciate e istituzioni culturali internazionali, per favorire la mobilità degli artisti invitati e degli operatori culturali. Vi invitiamo dunque a contattarci per essere aggiornati sulla lista dei Paesi Partner. In ogni caso, tutti gli artisti provenienti dai Paesi con cui Altofest non ha ancora stretto un accordo, riceveranno una lettera d’invito ufficiale, utile ad accedere ad eventuali fondi destinati alla mobilità internazionale.

Proposals may refer to one or more finished and already debuted works. Works must be original. Subject, contents and themes of the proposals are free.
Proposals will be considered only if regarding Live Arts field (theatre, dance, performance, and their cross-disciplinary declinations).
All professional artists can apply, with no distinction among nationality, language or age.
Amateur groups are excluded.

Artist will be invited to a residency to re-qualify their work, for five days. The work will be then open to the audience during the following five days.
The presence of the artist is required for the entire period of Altofest, for ten days.

Altofest ensures accommodation, subsistence, and a lump sum, follow the terms and conditions written in the regulation document, that you find beside the form online.

HOW TO APPLY

Proposals have to be sent filling the form: www.altofest.net.

Filling the form, you declare that you read and accept the regulations unconditionally.
The form is the one and only way to collect the artistic proposals for Altofest 2019.

HOW ALTOFEST WORKS

Altofest takes place in different areas of Naples, the program run five days, from 11:00 to midnight.

The spaces in which Altofest will take place may vary according to nature, dimensions. They may be indoors or outdoors. All the spaces of Altofest belong to the citizens involved whom either lives there or take personally care of them.
The program of Altofest is composed solely by a selection of original performances, that have already been completed and performed in front of an audience, create for a formal space. Subject and contents are free. Performances must belong to the field of Live Arts (theatre, dance, performances, and all interdisciplinary variations).
The performances are intertwined with public talks, coordinated by the OCr (Critique Panel), and meetings with international cultural experts, who are invited to participate in Texture (a platform for dialogue on action and projection of cultural practices and artistic visions). Artists, citizens and cultural experts are all invited to equally take part in these public moments of the debate, to share and discuss the questions that come out from the practices that the Fest triggers.

Curatorial approach

The Artistic Direction assigns the space to the artist, making sure to match the artistic work with the space donor citizen and his/her space, according to a unique dramaturgy tracing the several paths of Altofest as part of one play, for which the stage is the city.
In order to offer a further exchange of views, the Artistic Directors and the Dramaturg of Altofest plan a personal encounter with each artist, committing to analyse the work that took place during the residency.
The performances are selected through an international open call, spread worldwide. So that, the dramaturgy rise from a large number of proposals received.

Participation and program

All performances are free, but booking is compulsory.
The spaces hosting the performances of Altofest may vary in dimensions and can only welcome a small number of spectators. In order to make sure that all the citizens involved can participate, the artists will have to perform at least two times and possibly more, in agreement with the space donor and the artistic direction.
Altofest gives rise to space for sharing artistic practice, and questioning aesthetics, poetics and politics processes; It is an Observatory for new relations between art and citizens, for questioning the participatory art practices. Artists, therefore, are warmly invited to attend all the programmed works, to take part in all the activities planned by Altofest, involving the citizens as well. Artists are also invited to actively participate in the discussions opened by the Critique Panel and during the meetings with the international cultural experts, as well as leaving a written trace of their own experience.

Accommodation and Residency

Artists live and work in informal, domestic or daily spaces, and they are hosted by citizens “Space Donor” or residents who are part of the “Accommodation Network”.
Artists are involved for a total of 10 days which include the artist residency and the presentation of the performance to the audience.
Therefore, the presence of the artists is required for the entire period of Altofest, which is ten days. An active and immersive presence is necessary for the completion of the processes triggered by Altofest and is an essential part of the structure of Altofest.
Artists are required to question and re-qualify their work, taking into consideration the elements existing in the space.
During the period of residency, the artist has to involve the space donor in the process of analysing and re-elaborating the performance and keep the space donor informed about the process of re-writing the inhabited space. The experience got during the residency is shared with the audience, during the short discussions (moderate by OCr) that follow each performance.

Technical conditions

Altofest provides each artist with access to a web archive collecting pictures, dimensions, but also the limits of intervention imposed by the space donor citizen, and all the information regarding the assigned space.
Due to the domestic and private nature of the spaces, Altofest not provides any further technical support other than what is already existing in the assigned space.
If the artists need further technics or props, they have to take care of finding them and transporting them autonomously and at their expenses.
In any case, any technical intervention must be submitted to the agreement of the owners of the space in accordance with the artistic direction.

Documentation

The creative processes are documented through photos and videos. The collected materials compose Altofest’s archive, remain the property of Altofest and may be used for researching and promotional purposes.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Altofest does not provide any support other than what is clearly stated in the open call.

Altofest is an independent project, community-based. Altofest exists thanks to the members of TeatrInGestAzione, who give time, skills and money (to the extent of their possibilities). Thanks to the citizens, who give spaces and accommodation. Thanks to the artists, who share the time and space of their own work; thanks to volunteers; thanks to the participation of some ethical local realities; thanks to researchers; professionals; cultural experts; at the national and international level, who offer their skills and share their visions, intertwining them with those of Altofest.
From 2017 to 2019, the editions of Altofest are partially supported by Funder35/Fondazione con il Sud. The fund is meant to be used to structure the organisation, and therefore allows hiring two persons in the staff.

Altofest provides artists with

€ 500 as a lump sum for artistic residency. The amount is to be considered exclusively as a reimbursement of the expenses that the Artist will face during the artistic residency for the requalification process of the performance;
The payment will be made by the end of December 2019, via bank transfer, once received the receipt/invoice (under no circumstances the payment will be made cash); Under no circumstances, the payment can be considered as a purchase of the performance;
One daily meal voucher to be spent for lunch only at Altofest “Cucina Sociale” (social kitchen). The voucher is valid only on July 4th-5th-6th-7th 2019, at lunchtime;
Free accommodation in one of the private domestic spaces belonging to “space donor” citizen, or to a member of the Accommodation Network composed of citizens, friends and supporters;
The care for the relation between artists and space donors or accommodation donors;
The care of all the possible connections between all the artists and the international cultural experts. For this reason, artists will be requested to send a synthetic file (including biography, statement, works in distribution). The materials will be collected in a digital catalogue and sent to the experts that will participate in Altofest;
The promotion of performance through the website, social network, newsletter, printed and press-related materials;
The promotion of the activities of the artists, through social media, with the #PEOPLEofALTOFEST hashtag; along the current year;
Altofest cares for linguistic accessibility. All the communication is bilingual (ITA-ENG).

Artists commit themselves to respect the following conditions:

Artists will commit themselves to be present for the whole duration of Altofest; from June 28th to July 7th 2019 included;
Artists will commit themselves to perform at least two times;
Artists relieve Altofest from the payment of social security contributions, insurance contributions and royalties (regarding the artists, as well as a third person);
Artists commit themselves to use materials without copyright or to pay copyright royalties in case of using copyright-protected materials.

Altofest does not cover travel costs, but it cares for agreements with several Embassies and international cultural institutions that support artists’ mobility and host cultural operators (the Altofest has a 95% success rate for mobility support with countries with which it has an agreement). All the artists coming from a Country that has not yet signed an agreement with Altofest will receive an official invitation letter, in order to apply for international mobility funds.
