Aerowaves è nuovamente alla caccia di 20 coreografi emergenti, talentuosi e basati geograficamente in Europa.

Candidature per Twenty21

I coreografi possono candidarsi con brevi lavori finiti tra i 15 e i 40 minuti.

I requisiti di ammissibilità per potersi candidare includono:

Essere residenti in Europa.
La possibilità di candidarsi con un solo lavoro all’anno.
Il lavoro che si sottopone deve essere stato prodotto nell’area geografica europea.
Aerowaves è una piattaforma per pezzi brevi: la coreografia deve avere durata compresa tra i 15 e i 40 minuti.
Il lavoro deve essere finito ed essere stato presentato pubblicamente ivi incluso uno sharing; i work in progress o le prove in sala non sono accettate.
Il lavoro dovrebbe essere facilmente inseribile in una serata con altri due o tre pezzi e avere semplici necessità tecniche.

Perchè candidarsi per Aerowaves?

Inserirsi in un network
Chiunque faccia domanda per Aerowaves ha l’eventuale possibilità di far circuitare e programmare il proprio lavoro dai partner indipendentemente dal fatto che si sia selezionati o no come artisti di Aerowaves. Circa 100 opportunità di performance sono garantite dai partner e supportate da Aerowaves ogni anno.

Visibilità del proprio lavoro
Se si viene selezionati come uno dei partecipanti di Aerowaves Twenty il proprio lavoro verrà promosso da Aerowaves via sito web per un anno con profilo dell’artista, immagini, video e rassegna stampa

Opportunità promozionale
Come membro di Aerowaves Twenty si potranno annunciare le proprie date a venire nel calendario di Aerowaves e condividerlo attraverso i network stesso e i social media.

Spring Forward
Si potrebbe essere scelti col proprio lavoro per lo Spring Forward Festival che si tiene a Elefsina, in Grecia, dal 6 al 9 maggio 2021

Se all’inizio …
Se non si viene selezionati un anno vale la pena riprovare (con un lavoro diverso) negli anni seguenti. Ciò può aiutare a costruire il riconoscimento e la comprensione del proprio lavoro soprattutto se si è davvero un nuovo coreografo.

Come candidarsi
Suggerimenti per la candidatura:

leggere accuratamente i criteri di ammissibilità prima della candidatura
mandare la propria candidatura il prima possibile
darsi tanto tempo per caricare il proprio video su Vimeo – gli intoppi tecnici causano stress, specialmente all’ultimo minuto!
assicurarsi che il video del lavoro proposto sia nella più alta qualità possibile e della lunghezza corretta
far sapere al rappresentante nazionale di Aerowaves che ci si sta candidando e invitarlo a vedere la propria performance dal vivo

Il proprio video su vimeo:

Si prega di caricare il video su Vimeo (preferibilmente in HD) e includere il link nell’application form. Se si ha un account Vimeo Plus si deve abilitare l’opzione “download’ nelle impostazioni in modo che l’organizzazione possa scaricarlo. Se si una versione di Vimeo che è meno di 500MB (per evitare di pagare la sottoscrizione) bisogna mandare il file tramite servizio We Transfer a info@aerowaves.org. La dimensione ideale è 1920 x 1080 in HD, ma si prega di tenere il file entro i 2GB. Ci dev’essere una versione online del lavoro e l’organizzazione deve averne una copia in archivio
Usare l’impostazione ‘privata’ se non si vuole che il pubblico veda il video e in tal caso accludere la password nel proprio application form
Includere uno statement di 100 parole relativo al lavoro nell’apposita casella del proprio upload Vimeo – esso può includere informazioni fattuali e contestuali (e anche 100 parole di statement e 100 di biografia nella sezione Note dell’application form).
I link di Vimeo vengono condivisi coi partners di Aerowaves prima del Meeting annuale ad ottobre così da poter svolgere il loro compito!

Suggerimenti per fare il video:
Poiché il processo di selezione è effettuato tramite visione delle registrazioni video è davvero importante pensare a come si presenta il proprio lavoro.

Il video dovrebbe essere una semplice registrazione di una pubblica performance del pezzo dall’inizio alla fine
Se ci si candida con una versione editata di un lavoro più lungo il video deve essere nella versione corta. E questa versione deve essere disponibile per essere rappresentata
Esso può includere dei primi piani e dei campi lunghi – pensare a come meglio si rappresenta il lavoro in termini di dettagli / angolazioni / scala etc.
I video promozionali non sono accettati e nemmeno video di lavori diversi da quello che si propone ad Aerowaves

Aerowaves Twenty21 artists call

Aerowaves is on the hunt again for twenty talented emerging choreographers based in geographical Europe.

Apply for Twenty21

Choreographers apply to the programme with a short (15-40 min), finished work.

Eligibility requirements include:

You must be resident in Europe to apply.
You may apply with only one work per year.
The work you are submitting must have been produced in geographical Europe.
Aerowaves is a platform for short works – your work must be 15-40 minutes in length.
Your work must be finished and have been presented to the public which can include a studio sharing – work in progress or rehearsal footage are not eligible.
Your work should be easily included in a double or triple bill and have simple technical requirements.

Why apply to Aerowaves?

Reach a network
Everyone who applies to Aerowaves has the chance to have their work programmed by the partners of the network, whether or not they are selected as Aerowaves artists. Around 100 performance opportunities are guaranteed by the partners and supported by Aerowaves each year.

Exposure for your work
Should you be selected as one of the Aerowaves Twenty, your work will be promoted by Aerowaves via its website for one year by an artist profile, with images, video and press coverage all in one place.

Promotional Opportunities
As one of the Aerowaves artist, you will be able to announce your forthcoming performances in the Aerowaves calendar and we will share this through our networks and social media.

Spring Forward
You may be selected to perform your work at our Spring Forward Festival which will take place in Elefsina, Greece from 6-9 May 2021

If at first…
If you are not selected in one year, it is worth applying again (with a different work) in subsequent years. This can help to build recognition and understanding for your work, especially if you are a very new choreographer.

How to apply
Application Tips

Read the eligibility criteria thoroughly before putting your application together
Get your application in as early as possible
Give yourself plenty of time to upload your video to Vimeo – technical hitches cause stress, especially at the last minute!
Make sure the video of the work you are submitting is of the highest possible quality and correct length
Let your national Aerowaves representatives know that you are applying and invite them to see your performance live

Providing your video on vimeo

Please upload your video to Vimeo (preferably in HD) and include the link in your application form. If you have a Vimeo Plus account please enable ‘download’ in the settings so we can download it. If you don’t then upload a version to Vimeo that is less than 500MB (to avoid paying a subscription), and send a bigger file (if available) via a service like We Transfer, to info@aerowaves.org. The ideal dimensions are 1920 x 1080 in HD, but please try to keep your file to under 2GB. There must be a version of the work online, and we must also have a copy on file
Use the privacy settings if you do not wish it to be public, but include the password in your application form
Please include a 100 word statement about the work in the description box of your Vimeo upload – it can include factual and contextual information about the work (also include this 100 word statement and a 100 word biography in the notes section of the application form).
We use your Vimeo links to share with Aerowaves Partners before our Annual Meeting in October – so that they can do their homework!

Tips for making your video
Since our selection process is assisted by watching a video recording, it’s really important that you think about how your work will come across.

The video should be a fairly simple record of a public performance of the work from beginning to end
If you are applying with an edited version of a longer work, the video you provide must be of the shortened version. This version must be available for performance
It should include close-ups and wide shots – think about how best to represent the work in terms of details / angles / capturing the scale
Promotional videos are not acceptable, nor are videos of any work other than the one with which you are applying to Aerowaves
Please try and keep the size of the file to under 2GB
