Cie & Studio Thor | Thierry Smits ha indetto un’audizione per danzatori e danzatrici per la sua nuova creazione, TOUMAÏ.
La nuova creazione di Thierry Smits sarà sviluppata attorno ai temi del collasso della società industriale e la reinvenzione del vivere assieme in un mondo distrutto.
Concepita in collaborazione con lo scenografo Boris Dambly sarà creata ‘in situ’ per lo Studio Thor workspace a Bruxelles e la piece sarà replicata per 12 settimane tra novembre 2020 e febbraio 2021.
Durante l’audizione a ogni candidato verrà chiesto di immaginare una situazione post-collasso sulla quale lui o lei saranno capaci di improvvisare. Il progetto vuole porre in discussione le nozioni di sopravvivenza umana collettiva o individuale e, più generalmente, la capacità di trasformazione degli esseri viventi.
Per questa creazione Thierry Smits desidera riunire una squadra di sette artisti che rappresenteranno un’ampia diversità sul palco.
Questi artisti devono essere in grado di fare proposte creative, possedere un alto livello di consapevolezza del corpo e precisione nell’esecuzione del movimento.
La formazione e la pratica principale dei candidati può differire: ballerini, attori fisici, artisti circensi, praticanti di arti marziali, performer …
Sono benvenute tutte le fisicità, generi, orientamenti sessuali ed etnie.
Oltre alla dimensione corporea, sarà apprezzata l’abilità verbale e / o musicale.
Il gruppo, di età compresa tra 20 e 40 anni, sarà composto esclusivamente da residenti in Europa.
Sono panificate due audizioni a Bruxelles in Belgio:
- 30 novembre e 1 dicembre 2019
- 7 e 8 dicembre 2019.
Le audizioni saranno seguite da un workshop con frequenza obbligatoria per i 12 partecipanti selezionati per formare un team coerente che si terrà il 9, 10 e 11 dicembre 2019.
La presenza durante il periodo di prove (dal 24 agosto 2020 al 9 novembre 2020) e le performance (dall’11 novembre al 19 dicembre 2020 e poi dal 4 gennaio 2021 al 26 febbraio 2021) deve essere costante e verrà richiesto un impegno da parte dei partecipanti che non permette altre prove o performance durante il periodo di produzione.

Cie & Studio Thor | Thierry Smits is Looking for Dancers for a New Creation
Thierry Smits’ new creation will be developed around the themes of the collapse of industrial society and the reinvention of living together in a destroyed world.
Conceived in collaboration with Boris Dambly’s scenographic devices which will be created in situ for the Studio Thor workspace in Brussels, the piece will be shown for twelve weeks, between November 2020 and February 2021.
During the auditions, each candidate will be asked to imagine a post-collapse situation on which he or she will be able to improvise. The project aims to question the notions of collective or individual human survival and, more generally, the ability of transformation of living beings.
For this creation, Thierry Smits wishes to gather a team of seven performers representing a wide diversity on stage. These artists must be able to make creative proposals, be endowed with a high level of body awareness, and precision in their movement’s execution. Their main training and practices may differ: dancers, physical actors, circus artists, martial artists, performers… All physical, gender, sexuality and ethnic origins are welcome. Beyond the bodily dimension, a verbal and/or musical ability will be appreciated.
The 20- to 40-year-old team will be exclusively composed with European residents.
Two audition weekends are planned:
- November 30 and December 1st, 2019
- December 7 and 8, 2019
Followed by a workshop with mandatory attendance for the last 12 participants selected in order to build a coherent team: December 9, 10 and 11, 2019
The presence during the rehearsal period (from August 24, 2020 to November 9, 2020) and performances (from November 11, 2020 to December 19, 2020 and from January 4, 2021 to February 26, 2021) must be constant, and will require a commitment from the participants that will not allow other rehearsals or performances during this period.
