Radar Sofia e il Drama Pact platform offrono a scrittori, drammaturghi, performer, teatranti l’opportunità di andare a Sofia, in Bulgaria, incontrare gli operatori teatrali locali e di gettare le basi per future partnership e nuovi progetti.
Il residente selezionato riceverà una borsa di studio di 600 euro, più l’alloggio per un periodo compreso tra una e quattro settimane in un appartamento condiviso nel centro di Sofia. Il residente deve organizzare il proprio viaggio da e per Sofia. Verrà fornita una lettera di invito. Naturalmente, il titolare della borsa di studio sarà anche in grado di rimborsare parzialmente o totalmente le spese di viaggio dall’importo della borsa di studio.
La residenza può svolgersi nel periodo che va da 25 novembre 2019 al 30 marzo 2020.
Le candidature sono accettate fino al 15 ottobre 2019 e non oltre.
Il bando è aperto a tutte le nazionalità ma probabilmente è più funzionale per coloro che vengono dall’Europa.
La capacità di comunicare in inglese è un prerequisito per candidarsi.
L’invito a venire a Sofia non è correlato alla finalizzazione del progetto o alla presentazione del risultato del periodo di residenza. Tuttavia i candidati prescelti saranno coloro che stanno lavorando (o stanno per lavorare) a un progetto che trarrà molto beneficio dal periodo creativo a Sofia, o che trae spunto dalle locali specificità o che può coinvolgere teatranti bulgari o, ancora, che può avere un impatto significativo sul contesto locale se si tengono delle rappresentazioni a Sofia in futuro.
E’ possibile una pubblica presentazione dei lavori precedenti dei residenti oltre all’opzione di ospitare un seminario (e incoraggiamo i candidati a presentare anche proposte a tal riguardo).
Uno spazio per alcune prove, test, assaggi può essere disposto.

Radar Sofia è un centro d’arte di resistenza contro il mainstream, un luogo di residenza per chi fa drammaturgia, un rifugio sicuro per coloro che non sono sicuri, un collettivo di artisti con uno spiccato senso del teatro in uno strano paese e in tempi strani.
I residenti invitati sono un forte mix di creatori dissidenti internazionali e nomi affermati e altamente rispettati, ma sono sempre alla ricerca di artisti nuovi e emergenti e nuovi approcci. Il Radar è recentemente diventato una filiale del network Artist at Risk.

Radar Sofia and the Drama Pact platform. Open Call for Paid Creative Stay
Radar Sofia and the Drama Pact platform are offering a playwright/dramaturge/performer/theatremaker the opportunity to come and stay in Sofia, Bulgaria, meet local theatre operators and form the basis of future partnership(s) or joint new project(s).
The selected resident will receive a scholarship of 600 EUR, plus accommodation for a period оf between one and four weeks in a shared flat in central Sofia. The resident has to arrange his/her own travel to and from Sofia. A letter of invitation will be provided. Of course, the scholarship holder will also be able to partially or fully reimburse their travel expenses from the amount of the scholarship.
The residency has to take place in the period between Nov 25, 2019 and March 30, 2020.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis but not later than October 15, 2019.
The call is open to all nationalities but would probably be more functional for those coming from Europe.
English language communication skills are a prerequisite for the application.
The invitation to come to Sofia is not related to finalising a project or presenting a result from the residency period itself. However, the preferred applicants will be those who are now working (or starting to work) on a project that could strongly benefit from a period of creative stay in Sofia, or draw from its local specifics, or may involve Bulgarian theatre makers, or could have a significant impact on the local context if it takes place or plans presentations in Sofia in the future.
A public presentation of the resident’s previous works plus the option for hosting a workshop is possible and we encourage applicants to make proposals in this respect as well.
A space for a few rehearsals, tests, tryouts, could also be arranged.

Our residents are a strong mix of international dissident creators and highly respected established names, but we are always in search of new and up-and-coming artists and approaches. Radar has recently become a branch of the Artist at Risk network.
