Internationales Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival Suttgart 2020. Concorso per coreografi contemporanei e giovani danzatori (Germania)

Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival Suttgart fornisce uno sguardo sulle ultime tendenze nella scena del solo-dance-theatre. Come partecipanti alla competizione ai coreografi e ai danzatori di tutto il mondo è richiesto un assolo che sia unico, originale, immaginativo, e che mostri una realizzazione inusuale. La giuria giudicherà sia la capacità coreografica che coreutiche quanto la musicalità e l’interpretazione nella performance.

A marzo 2016 l’International-Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival ha festeggiato il suo ventesimo anniversario. Sotto la direzione artistica di Marcelo Santos il concorso è stato fermamente inserito come un appuntamento importante nella scena internazionale contemporanea degli ultimi 20 anni.
Il vasto numero di candidature provenienti da tutto il mondo e l’incredibile risposta di stampa e pubblico oltre all’internazionalità sa della giuria che dei partecipanti costituiscono il prestigio del festival.

Condizioni di partecipazione:

1. I coreografi possono partecipare al concorso con un assolo come debutto assoluto o il cui debutto non sia avvenuto prima di marzo 2019. La durata deve essere compresa tra i 9 e i 12 minuti. Le coreografie possono essere sviluppate secondo un linguaggio del movimento contemporaneo e genuino. I candidati sono liberi nella scelta del soggetto e della musica. Il pezzo può essere interpretato dallo stesso coreografo. L’interprete danzatore deve avere un’età massima pari a 30 anni.

2. Le candidature devono essere compilate online entro la mezzanotte dell’11 novembre 2019 e soltanto quelle inviate complete entro i limiti stabiliti e con un link attivo verranno considerate. Attenzione: verranno presi in considerazione link della coreografia che si vuole presentare al festival oppure delle prove soltanto se caricati su YouTube o Vimeo.

3. Non c’è alcuna tassa di iscrizione. La commissione esaminatrice selezionerà coloro che parteciperanno alla competizione. L’ammissione al concorso è soggetta al consenso da parte degli organizzatori. I coreografi e danzatori selezionati riceveranno l’invito al più tardi entro il 18 dicembre 2019. I concorrenti dovranno confermare l’accettazione entro il 6 gennaio 2020. Se essi non accettano in tempo l’invito è nullo.

4. I concorrenti sono obbligati a dare la disponibilità della loro performance per tutti i quattro giorni del festival. Essi si rendono disponibili altresì per le prove, le interviste e le registrazioni per la tv oltre a non richiedere diritti sulle foto.

5. L’evento verrà trasmesso live via web al seguente indirizzo: www.treffpunkt-rotebuehlplatz.de.

6. Il primo round delle selezioni si terrà tra giovedì e sabato di fronte al pubblico e alla giuria internazionale. La finale si svolgerà nella serata di domenica. L’annuncio dei vincitori verrà dato sabato sera. I finalisti presenteranno ancora il proprio assolo nella serata di domenica. Tutti i partecipanti staranno fino alla fine del festival.

7. La decisione della giuria è finale. Se un concorrente è uno studente o un membro della compagnia di uno dei giurati esso, il giurato, si asterrà dalla votazione.

8.I premi hanno un ammontare totale di € 16.000. Prima del pagamento ai vincitori vengono trattenute le tasse.

9. Tecnica
Scena: dimensioni palco 10 m x 8,50 m; tappeto da danza nero; scatola nera con quinte nere: fondale nero e grigio del muro
Luci: Frontale + controluce freddi e caldi + tagli laterali freddi e caldi + 1 speciale
Musica: CD o USB
Sono ammessi soltanto allestimenti leggeri con equipaggiamento trasportabile il cui montaggio e smontaggio non facciano ritardare il programma. Sono permessi max 75 minuti a tutti i concorrenti per preparare la scena, settaggio luci e prove nel giorno della performance.

10. I partecipanti saranno sistemati in stanza doppia condivisa con altri partecipanti. L’organizzazione si fa carico dei costi dell’hotel (inclusa la colazione) e paga un sussidio per le spese di viaggio.

11. I vincitori prenderanno parte al “Gala of Winners” con la loro performance. La tournée si terrà in Germania dal 13 al 26 novembre 2020. Verrà dato un compenso forfettario (spese viaggio + costi pernottamento + pasti).

Competition for contemporary choreographers and young dancers

The festival will provide an overall view of the latest trends in the solo-dance-theatre scene. As participants in the competition, choreographers and dancers from around the world, are requested to perform a solo piece which is new, original, imaginative, unique and which displays unusual achievement. The respected jury will judge choreographic and dance skills as well as musicality, interpretation and performance.
In March 2016 the International-Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival was celebrating its 20th anniversary. Under the artistic direction of Marcelo Santos the competition has been firmly established in the international and contemporary dance scene for the last twenty years.
The large number of applications from all over the world, the tremendous response from the press and spectators as well as the internationality of the participants and jury members show the prestige of the festival.

Conditions of entry

1. Choreographers may participate in the competition with a solo piece that is presented either as a premiere or hasn’t been performed on stage for the first time before March 2019. The duration of the performance has to be between 9 and 12 minutes. The choreographies should be developed along the lines of a contemporary and genuine movement-language. The applicant is free in choice of subject and music. The piece may be interpreted by the choreographer him/herself. The dancer must be 30 or younger.

2. The application must be filed online until 11th November 2019, 12.00 o’clock midnight CET and is only complete with sending an online link (attention: only YouTube or Vimeo links) to the choreographic work (also rehearsal) which shall be presented at the festival. If the applicant uses Vimeo for his submission video it is necessarily to ajust also the download function. Only complete applications which are handed in within the deadline are considered.

3. There is no entrance fee. A curatorship will select the choreographers and dancers to participate in the competition. Admission to the competition is subject to the organizers’ consent. The successful choreographers and dancers will receive an invitation by 18th December 2019 at the latest. The competitors must confirm acceptance by 6th January 2020. If the competitors do not accept in time, the invitation will become invalid.

4. Competitors are obliged to be available for performances on the four festival days. They agree to be available for rehearsals, interviews, movie and television recordings and photos free of charge.

5. The event will be broadcast live on the following website: www.treffpunkt-rotebuehlplatz.de

6. The first round decisions of the competition will take place between Thursday and Saturday evening in front of an audience and international jury. The final will be held on Sunday evening. The decision of the jury concerning the nomination for the final will be announced on Saturday evening. The finalists will again present their solo piece on Sunday. All participants will stay until the end of the festival.

7. The decision of the jury is final. If a competitor is a student or company member of one of the jurors, the particular juror will withhold his vote

8. Prizes to a total value of € 16.000 will be awarded. Before the award winners are paid, the organizer is obliged to deduct tax from the prize money.

9. Technical data
Stage: Size of the stage (dance floor) 10 m x 8,50 m; black dance floor; black curtain with wings: backdrop black or grey stonewall
Light: Front light, backlight warm and cold; wings warm and cold, 1 special
Sound (music): CD, USB

For the stage design only easily transportable equipments whose construction and dismantling don’t delay the program are admitted. A maximum of 75 minutes is available to all competitors preparing the stage, setting the lights and rehearsing on the day of the performance.

10. The participants will be accommodated in a double bed room which will be shared with an other participant. The organizer takes over the hotel costs (incl. breakfast) and pays a subsidy towards the travel expenses.

11. The award winners agree to give performances in the context of “Gala of Winners”. The tour will take place in Germany from 13th until 26th November 2020. A global fee, travel expenses, overnight costs and catering will be paid.
