Eurasia Dance Project. Audition in for EurAsia Student Exchange. Scholarship for Indian students.

EurAsia is a dance project for European and Asian students, created in 2016 during my first collaboration with the IIC of Mumbai, India.
To clarify the importance of this project I should start by saying that in Europe we have the highest quality of contemporary dance, and we have students from all over the world applying to our three years professional programs and hoping to be part of them. As we have the best training and the best companies we do maintain a high level. That’s why it is very difficult to be selected and be part of this process, that opens doors for those who want to start a professional career in this field. It is also true that we don´t give scholarship except in rare cases.
When the biggest dance companies in the world are searching for new dancers, they plan a call audition in order to select them: but they invite only dancers with a three years European standard professional training, plus two/three years of experience after the academy.
So it’s easy to understand that the majority of candidates are automatically rejected.
This is the reason why I am working on this project.
As a guest teacher and choreographer for the biggest academies of Europe, I started to create a link between them with an exchange program, involving students, teachers and productions inside my continent. My wish is to create a strong collaboration between those who work with the same aim: to spread out knowledge and quality, each of them in a personal and subjective way.
I´ve been coming to India for years and I know how difficult it is, for your people, to bear European costs. But I also know how special is your talent and how big your dance community.
Every year, for this reason, I´m selecting some Indian students who will travel to Europe, to attend one of the academies that are partners of the project. They will get a 50% scholarship for all three years, establishing a bridge between our two continents.
The first two schools that are supporting this project and are making it possible are the CDSH of Hamburg and the DanceHaus of Milan: next autumn, other european realities will join this idea of mine.
Attakkalari of Bangalore will also be included in this exchange project. They are supporting me for the auditions, the training and my new productions in India. I will send some European students who are interested in Indians Traditional Dance Techniques to their centre.
It is also in Attakkalari of Bangalore that the next national audition will take place, on June 23th and 24th 2018. In this occasion I will select 10 dancers: 5 for the DanceHaus of Milan and 5 for the CDSH of Hamburg. They will get a 50% scholarship for the three years of professional program starting from September 2019.
Once they have been selected, the students will be part of EURASIA International Network so they can be chosen for international exchange studing programs between the academies that are part of EurAsia and also for Stefano Fardelli´s dance projects all over the world.
Indian students will have the chance to be part of the professional dance world outside their country.
