Il coreografo Gary Clarke cerca danzatori altamente capaci da inserire alla Gary Clarke Company per la tournée nella primavera 2018 per l’acclamata produzione COAL.
Vincitore del UK Theatre Award e del Critics Circle National Dance Award, COAL è un interessante pezzo di teatro di danza che offre uno sguardo nostalgico sula dura realtà della vita dei minatori. Descritto dal Times come “Eccezionale”, la produzione coinvolge una compagnia di ballerini professionisti, una banda di ottoni dal vivo, partecipanti della comunità e un forte team di progettazione e produzione. RUOLO
All’artista scelto sarà richiesto di:
- Imparare bene il repertorio di COAL da un ruolo esistente.
- danzare COAL in vari teatri di medie dimensioni nella primavera 2018 (6 spettacoli in totale).
- passare sezioni di COAL in site-specific in vari luoghi e aree
- tenere dei workshop su COAL presso scuole, college e università a livello nazionale.
- Lavorare con e accanto a gruppi di donne della comunità di varie sedi e regioni.
DATE DEL PROGETTO – PRIMAVERA 2018
- 15 gennaio 2018 – visita al sito National Coal Mining Museum of England
- dal 29 gennaio al 2 febbraio – prove a Londra
- dal 3 al 16 febbraio – tournée in UK (con flessibilità all’interno di queste date)
- dal 2 al 29 marzo 2018 – tourné in UK e in Scozia (con flessibilità all’interno di queste date)
- dal 6 all’11 maggio 2018 – European Festival
RETRIBUZIONE
£ 500 alla settimana per 8 settimane di ingaggio ( £4000) oltre a ferie e feste pagate, viaggi rimborsati, sistemazione e diaria. Gary Clarke sottopone contratti soggetti alle ITC / Equity Agreements e utilizza House Agreement con le Equity Rates.
QUESTO è UN WORKSHOP-AUDIZIONE SOLO PER DANZATORI (UOMINI) CHE DEVONO DIMOSTRARE DI AVERE:
una tecnica molto forte nella danza contemporanea, forte tecnica nel floorwork, forte e robusta costituzione, capacità teatrale, esperienza nel lavoro molto fisico, buone capacità nel contact e nella collaborazione, ottima resistenza, capacità nell’improvvisazione e capacità creativa, buona musicalità, confidenza nel lavoro sul testo, capacità di connettersi con un lavoro molto emotivo, disponibilità e apertura nel lavoro con la comunità e coi non-danzatori, buona attitudine sul lavoro, senso dell’umorismo, capacità di collaborare e lavorare in equipe, saper lavorare bene anche sotto pressione, esperienza pedagogica e nel lavoro di sensibilizzazione.

Choreographer Gary Clarke requires a highly skilled male dancer to join Gary Clarke Company for the Spring 2018 tour of the critically acclaimed mid-scale dance theatre production COAL
Winner of a UK Theatre Award and a Critics Circle National Dance Award, COAL is a riveting piece of dance theatre which takes a nostalgic look at the hard-hitting realities of life at the coal face. Described by The Times as ‘Outstanding,’ the production involves a company of professional dancers, live brass bands, community participants and a strong design and production team. JOB ROLE
The successful artist will be required to:
- Successfully learn the repertoire from COAL from an existing role.
- Perform COAL at various mid-scale theatre venues in spring 2018 (6 shows in total).
- Perform sections of COAL at site-specific locations linked to each venue and area
- Deliver COAL workshops at schools, colleges and universities nationwide.
- Work with and alongside groups of community women from each venue/regions integrated into the show.
PROJECT DATES – SPRING 2018
- 15 January 2018 – Site visit to The National Coal Mining Museum of England
- 29th January to 2nd February – Rehearsals in London
- 3rd February to 16th February. UK Touring (there are flexibility within these dates)
- 2nd March to 29th March 2018 – UK and Scottish Touring (there are flexibility within these dates)
- 6th – 11th May 2018 – European Festival
FEE
£500 per week x 8 weeks engagement (£4000) plus holiday pay, additional travel, accommodation and per diems covered. Gary Clarke contracts performers using ITC / Equity Agreements and has a House Agreement with Equity.
THIS IS AN WORKSHOP AUDITION FOR MALE DANCERS ONLY WHO SHOULD DEMONSTRATE:
A very strong contemporary dance technique, strong floor work technique, a strong physical build, strong physical theatre skills, experience in highly physical work, good contact and partnering skills, very good stamina, good improvisation and creative skills, good musicality, confidence in text work, the ability to connect with very emotionally driven work, a willingness and openness to work with the community / non-dancers, a good working attitude, a good sense of humour, the ability to collaborate and work well as a team, the ability to work well under pressure, confidence and experience in delivering education and outreach work, a full DBS check
