Mannheim (Germania) - Theater Felina-Areal

Gummitwist è un programma di tutoraggio ospitato dal Theater Felina-Areal di Mannheim. Il progetto supporta lo sviluppo di 3-5 coreografi a metà circa della loro carriera e basati all’interno di un raggio di 100 chilometri da Mannheim, in Germania (Stoccarda, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, Pforzheim, Ludwigsburg, Heidelberg, Ludwigshafen, Kaiserslautern, Worms, Francoforte, Darmstadt, Mainz, Wiesbaden).

Si cercano coreografi che siano alla ricerca di una guida di sostegno per l’ulteriore sviluppo del loro lavoro.

Gummitwist è diretto dal coreografo di Heidelberg Edan Gorlicki che sarà mentore degli artisti del programma.

Il programma offre un workshop di una settimana con docenti ospiti oltre alla creazione e sperimentazione per un periodo di massimo 3 settimane e la presentazione finale del lavoro svolto presso il Theater Felina-Areal. Ad ogni coreografo selezionato verrà offerto un supporto finanziario costituito da un modesto budget produttivo e un modesto onorario, per lavorare con un massimo di 3 danzatori/performers.

Non si cercano nuove idee o nuovi lavori; si cercano artisti che siano interessati a migliorare il loro mestiere. Le strategie del programma di tutor saranno costruite e disegnate insieme ad ogni coreografo scelto e basate sui suoi bisogni e interessi in relazione agli scopi e ai fini degli artisti stessi, dei mentori e dell’organizzazione.

Timeline:

• Scadenza per le candidature: 25 gennaio 2017.
• Tutti i candidati saranno intervistati da Edan Gorlicki via skype o telefono tra il 26 gennaio e il 3 febbraio 2017 (le interviste avverranno in inglese).
• Meeting tra la giuria e i coreografi pre-selezionati : 4 febbraio 2017.
• Annuncio dei candidati scelti: 10 febbraio 2017.
• settimana di Workshop (obbligatorio): dal 10 al 15 aprile 2017.
• Creazione/sperimentazione per un periodo di massimo 3 settimane (le date esatte vengono decise con ogni coreografo selezionato): dal 17 aprile al 13 maggio 2017.
• Settimana di scambio (obbligatoria): dal 15 al 20 maggio 2017.
• Presentazione (obbligatoria): 20 e 21 maggio 2017.

Gli artisti saranno scelti tramite una preselezione fatta da una giuria di professionisti e basata sulle candidature, sui video, sui lavori e sui colloqui.
La lingua parlata nel programma è l’inglese ma le candidature possono essere fatte sia in inglese che in tedesco.

GUMMITWIST – new choreographic mentorship program in spring 2017. Open call for choreographers based within 100km radius of Mannheim, Germany.

Gummitwist is a mentoring program hosted by Theater Felina-Areal, Mannheim. The project supports the development of 3-5 beginning to mid career choreographers based within 100-kilometer radius of Mannheim, Germany (Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, Pforzheim, Ludwigsburg, Heidelberg, Ludwigshafen, Kaiserslautern, Worms, Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Mainz, Wiesbaden).

We are searching for choreographers who are looking for guidance to support the further development of their work.

Gummitwist is directed by the Heidelberg choreographer Edan Gorlicki, who will mentor the artists throughout the program. The program offers a workshop week with guest teachers, creation/experimentation period of maximum 3 weeks and a presentation of results at Theater Felina-Areal.

Each choreographer selected will be offered financial support to work with up to 3 dancers/performers, a modest production budget and fee.

We are not looking for ideas of new works. We are looking for artists who are interested in improving their craft.

The mentoring strategies will be constructed and designed together with each selected artist based on the needs and interests of the choreographers in relation to the aims and goals of the artists, mentors and organization.

Timeframe:

• Choreographers application deadline: January 25, 2017
• All applicants will be interviewed by Edan Gorlicki via skype/phone: January 26 – February 3, 2017 (Interviews will be constructed in the English language)
• Jury meeting to select the choreographers: February 4, 2017
• Announcements of selected artists: February 10, 2017
• Workshop week (mandatory): April 10 – 15, 2017
• Creation/experimentation period of maximum 3 weeks (exact dates to be concluded with each selected choreographer): April 17 – May 13, 2017
• Exchange week (mandatory): May 15 – 20, 2017
• Presentations (mandatory): May 20 & 21, 2017

Artists will be chosen by a pre-selected jury of professionals based on written applications, online videos of work (if any) and interviews.
Program language is English but applications can be written in both English and German languages.
