Friday Island è una serie di eventi che si svolgeranno in Lussemburgo che promuovono lo scambio tra artisti ma anche il dialogo col pubblico su un tema dato.
Aperto a ogni disciplina artistica e mezzo, Friday Island offre una piattaforma di sperimentazione oltre gli usuali processi creativi legati al mercato. Friday Island offre la possibilità di approcciare temi socialmente rilevanti in modo critico per mezzo del pensiero artistico e della creazione.
Friday Island sta cercando artisti (dal Lussemburgo e dall’estero) che lavorino in qualsiasi ambito (performing arts, belle arti, video/film, letteratura, etc.) per il suo prossimo evento che si terrà il 9 dicembre 2016 all’ Hariko, in Lussemburgo.
Hariko è un posto creativo dove gli artisti di diverse discipline creano i loro lavori ed offrono la loro conoscenza ai giovani. Il luogo è un edificio a 5 piani in disuso che è stato riadibito. Ogni piano ha stanze di diverse dimensioni. Foto e misure dei diversi spazi possono essere inviate su richiesta.
Il tema dell’evento è The Other (l’altro). Il tema può essere affrontato in modo critico in relazione a un punto di vista socio/politico/filosofico. Il contributo artistico può prendere qualsiasi forma di espressione e devono essere incontestabilmente connesse al tema.
Gli artisti riceveranno un cachet di 600 euro e un rimborso viaggio A/R per la città di Lussemburgo fino a 150 euro (disponibili su richiesta).

Friday Island Call for proposals (Luxembourg)
FRIDAY ISLAND is a series of events taking place in Luxembourg, which promotes an exchange between artists as well as a public dialogue on a given topic. Open to all artistic disciplines and media, Friday Island offers a platform for experimentation beyond the creative processes usually bound to market oriented rationale. Friday Island offers the possibility to approach socially relevant themes in a critical way by the means of artistic thinking and creation.
FRIDAY ISLAND is looking for artists (from Luxembourg and abroad) working in any medium (performing arts, fine arts, video/film, literature, etc.) for its next event, taking place on December 9th, 2016, at “Hariko”, in Luxembourg.
Hariko, is a creative place where artists of different disciplines create their work and offer their knowledge to young people. The place is a disused building which has been refitted. The building has five levels. Each level contains rooms of different size.
Pictures and measurements of the different spaces can be delivered upon request.
The theme of the event is THE OTHER. The theme should be approached in a critical way in relation to social/political/philosophical perspectives. The artistic contributions can take any form of expression as long as they question the theme and suggest a non-conform point of view. The artistic propositions have to relate to the theme in an incontestable way.
Among others, the artists will receive a remuneration of 600,- euro per artistic contribution, travel refund to Luxembourg City up to 150,-euro are also available upon request.
