Requiem for Aleppo è un lamento per la distruzione di ciò che era una delle più belle città del Medio Oriente. La musica unisce le parole della Messa da Requiem cristiana con poesie arabe del X secolo sulla morte, su Dio e sull’amore. C’è interazione tra la tradizione musicale corale occidentale con l’antica poesia lirica araba e viene scritta per indicare che sebbene separati da differenze religiose siamo tutti esseri umani con le stesse esigenze e con lo stesso senso di dolore e perdita di fronte alla morte. E’ un pezzo per 6 – 8 solisti ed è pensata per dare ampio spazio sia alla danza astratta che alla narrazione.

Retribuzione: 450 sterline alla settimana.

Jason Mabana Dance is looking for 8 strong, physical, and versatile dancers. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
Where: London, venue to be confirmed, UK
When: Audition on the 16th of October.
Period of work: from the second to 29th of January(4weeks)
Fee: 450 pounds a week

Requiem for Aleppo is a lament for the destruction of a once-beautiful city where East met West in music, faith and philosophy. The music combines the words from the Christian requiem mass with Arabic poems from the 10th century about loss, death, God and love. The music’s interplay of Western choral tradition with ancient Arabic lyrical poetry is written to give a sense that though separated by religious differences we are all in the end human with the same needs, with the same sense of pain and loss in the face of death. It is a piece for 6 – 8 principal dancers and is designed to give wide scope for both abstract and figurative dance.
