Giunto alla sua sesta edizione il festival Dancing on the Edge si terrà in Olanda a novembre 2017. Per questa edizione si cercano performance di danza contemporanea o di teatro come anche performance multimediali e installazioni, film e art works.
Dancing on the Edge stimola lo scambio artistico tra i Paesi Bassi / Europa, il Medio Oriente e il Nord Africa. Ogni due anni, dal 2007, Dancing on the Edge ha presentato un festival multidisciplinare in alcune città olandesi. Il festival è una piattaforma per artisti provenienti, o in relazione, con la regione del Medio Oriente. Dancing on the Edge promuove anche progetti di collaborazione e organizza un ricco contesto con altri programmi. Dancing on the Edge ha sede a Amsterdam, Paesi Bassi.
Linee guida
I lavori devono essere di alta qualità e con interpreti professionali
- Si cercano lavori originali, da parte di artisti con un segno personale proprio
- Le performances possono essere pezzi brevi presentati come parte di un programma misto oppure produzioni a serata intera
- Il lavoro può essere sia per teatro che per luoghi non convenzionali, così come in site-specific, luoghi di comunità, etc. Possono essere anche lavori artistici online.
- Le performances teatrali debbono essere in lingua inglese o sottotitolate. Quelle non in inglese devono essere inviate con almeno una traduzione sommaria in inglese
- Il gruppo/artista dovrebbe provenire o lavorare in Medio Oriente o in Nord Africa o avere una forte connessione con la regione.

- seconda chiamata: novembre 2016
- seconda scadenza : 15 gennaio 2017
- marzo/aprile 2017: gli artisti selezionati in una short list verranno contattati e chiesto loro di compilare in forma maggiormente dettagliata. I candidati non selezionati per la short list saranno comunque informati.
- estate 2017: selezione finale del programma di Dancing on the Edge Festival 2017.

Dancing on the Edge Festival Open Call
For the sixth edition of the Dancing on the Edge Festival, to take place in November 2017, we are looking for contemporary dance and theater performances as well as multimedia and performance installations / films / art works.

Dancing on the Edge stimulates artistic exchange between The Netherlands/Europe and the Middle East and North Africa. Every two years, since 2007, Dancing on the Edge has presented a multidisciplinary festival in a number of Dutch cities. The festival is a platform for artists from/related to the Middle Eastern region to show what moves them. Dancing on the Edge also fosters collaboration projects and organizes rich context and other programs. Dancing on the Edge is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Guidelines
The works should be of high artistic quality and be made/performed by professional level artists
* We are looking for original work, made by artists with a personal signature
* Performances can be short works to be presented as part of a mixed program or they can be full length productions
* The work can be for theater or for non-traditional venues, such as site-specific locations, community venues, etc. It can also be an online artistic work
* Theater performances should be in English or suitable for surtitling. Those not in English should be sent with an English translation/summary
* The group/artist should be from and/or working in the Middle East and North Africa or have a strong connection with the region

– First call out: July 2016
– Deadline First call: 15 September 2016
– Second call out: November 2016
– Deadline Second call: 15 January 2017
– March/April 2017: artists selected for a short list will be contacted and asked to fill in a more detailed form. Candidates not selected for the short list will be informed as well.
– Summer 2017: final selection of the program of Dancing on the Edge Festival 2017.
