Aerowaves 2017. Call per coreografi emergenti e promettenti in Europa.

Ogni anno il network Aerowaves seleziona 20 tra i più promettenti coreografi emergenti in Europa. Aerowaves promuove il loro lavoro per un anno, creando opportunità di distribuzione con i partner.

Le candidature aprono alle ore 9:00 del 1 giugno e chiudono a mezzanotte del 12 settembre 2016.

Perchè candidarsi ad Aerowaves?

Ragiungere un network. Ciascun candidato ad Aerowaves ha la chance di veder il proprio lavoro programmato dai partners del network, anche se non selezionato come artista di Aerowaves. Circa 100 opportunità performative sono garantite dai partners e supportate da Aerowaves ogni anno.

Visibilità del proprio lavoro. Se selezionati come uno dei Aerowaves Twenty, il vostro lavoro sarà promosso per un anno da Aerowaves tramite il sito web con un profilo, con immagini, video e rassegna stampa.

Opportunità promozionali. Come uno degli Aerowaves Twenty, potrete annunciare le prossime performances nel calendario Aerowaves e condividerle mediante i nostri network e i social media.

Spring Forward. Potrete essere selezionati per fare una replica allo Spring Forward Festival. Noi garantiamo d programmare almeno 10 degli attuali artisti Aerowaves Twenty nel festival ogni anno.

Se in un primo momento … Se non sarete selezionati quest’anno è bene candidarsi ancora (con un lavoro diverso) negli anni seguenti. Questo può aiutare a comprendere il vostro lavoro soprattutto se siete nuovi coreografi.

Le candidature sono aperte dalle ore 9:00 del 1 giugno 2016 e chiudono a mezzanotte del 12 settembre 2016.

Ogni candidatura deve includere link video su Vimeo e il video originale deve essere mandato tramite We Transfer (Aerowaves non usa più i DVD!)

Suggerimenti per candidarsi

• Leggete a fondo i criteri di ammissibilità prima di comporre la vostra candidatura
• Mandate la candidatura il prima possibile
• Datevi molto tempo per caricare il video su Vimeo – i problemi tecnici causano stress, soprattutto all’ultimo minuto!
• Assicuratevi che il video del lavoro che proponete sia nella maggiore qualità possibile e della corretta durata
• Fate in modo che il vostro rappresentante nazionale Aerowaves sappia che vi state candidandi e invitatelo a vedere la performance dal vivo.

Il video su Vimeo

• Si prega di caricare il video su Vimeo in HD e includere il link nell’application form
• Usate la modalità privata se non volete che il video sia pubblico ma indicate la password nella application form
• Se il video è troppo grande per Vimeo gratuito potete fare una sottoscrizione a Vimeo Plus  per un mese a €10.50
• Aerowaves usa link Vimeo da condividere coi Partners Aerowaves prima dell’annuale Meeting in Ottobre

Mandate il vostro video tramite We Transfer

• Aerowaves non accetta più DVD via posta
• Mettete il nome nel vostro file video e il titolo del lavoro
• Si prega di seguire le istruzioni su wetransfer.com per caricare e mandatelo a info@aerowaves.org
• Assicuratevi che il video sia nella maggiore qualità possibile tra i video che avete
• Aerowaves scaricherà il vostro video su un hard disk da usare durante il Meeting annuale ad ottobre

Consigli per fare il video

Da quando il processo selettivo è fatto tramite visione dei video, è molto importante che pensiate a come il vostro lavoro si porrà.

• Il video deve essere abbastanza semplice e deve contenere la registrazione di una performance pubblica dall’inizio alla fine
• Se vi state candidando con una versione più lunga e “editata”, il video proposto deve essere in una versione accorciata
• Se volete includere ingrandimenti e campi lunghi – pensate a come il lavoro sia meglio rappresentato nei dettagli/angoli/scale di visione
• I video promozionali non sono accettati né altri video che non siano quello del lavoro che state sottoponendo ad Aerowaves.

Aerowaves 2017. 

Each year the Aerowaves network selects 20 of the most promising emerging choreographers in Europe. Aerowaves promotes their work for a year, creating opportunities to perform with our Partners.

Are you a choreographer based in Europe? Get a chance to become one of our Twenty17 artists and to have your work programmed at Spring Forward by our partners.

Applications open at 9am on 1 June 2016 and close at midnight on 12 September 2016.

Why apply to Aerowaves?

Reach a network. Everyone who applies to Aerowaves has the chance to have their work programmed by the partners of the network, whether or not they are selected as Aerowaves artists. Around 100 performance opportunities are guaranteed by the partners and supported by Aerowaves each year.

Exposure for your work. Should you be selected as one of the Aerowaves Twenty, your work will be promoted by Aerowaves via its website for one year by an artist profile, with images, video and press coverage all in one place.

Promotional Opportunities. As one of the Aerowaves Twenty, you will be able to announce your forthcoming performances in the Aerowaves calendar and we will share this through our networks and social media.

Spring Forward. You may be selected to perform your work at our Spring Forward Festival. We guarantee to programme at least 10 of the current Aerowaves Twenty artists in the festival each year.

If at first… If you are not selected in one year, it is worth applying again (with a different work) in subsequent years. This can help to build recognition and understanding for your work, especially if you are a very new choreographer.

Aerowaves 2017

Applications will open at 9am on 1 June 2016 and close at midnight on 12 September 2016.

Each application must include a link to a video hosted on Vimeo AND the original video file must be sent to us using We Transfer – we are not using DVDs anymore!

Application Tips

• Read the eligibility criteria thoroughly before putting your application together
• Get your application in as early as possible
• Give yourself plenty of time to upload your video to Vimeo – technical hitches cause stress, especially at the last minute!
• Make sure the video of the work you are submitting is of the highest possible quality and correct length
• Let your national Aerowaves representatives know that you are applying and invite them to see your performance live

Providing your video on Vimeo

• Please upload your video to Vimeo in HD and include the link in your application form
• Use the privacy settings if you do not wish it to be public, but include the password in your application form
• If your video is too big for Vimeo’s free membership, you should take a Vimeo Plus subscription for one month at €10.50
• We use your Vimeo links to share with Aerowaves Partners before our Annual Meeting in October – so that they can do their homework!

Sending your video by We Transfer

• We no longer accept DVDs sent in the post
• Name your video file with the title of your work
• Please follow the instructions on wetransfer.com to upload and send your video file to info@aerowaves.org
• Ensure that you send us the highest quality video file that you have of your work
• We will download your video file onto a hard drive to use during our Annual Meeting in October

Tips for making your video

Since our selection process is assisted by watching a video recording, it’s really important that you think about how your work will come across.

• The video should be a fairly simple record of a public performance of the work from beginning to end
• If you are applying with an edited version of a longer work, the video you provide must be of the shortened version
• It should include close-ups and wide shots – think about how best to represent the work in terms of details / angles / capturing the scale
• Promotional videos are not acceptable, nor are videos of any work other than the one with which you are applying to Aerowaves
