Ideata nel 2013 da Centrale Fies in collaborazione con Viafarini e giunta alla quarta edizione, LIVE WORKS è una piattaforma dedicata alle pratiche contemporanee live che contribuiscono all’approfondimento e all’ampliamento della nozione di performance, seguendo l’attuale spostamento del performativo e delle sue cifre.
La piattaforma vuole misurare la concretezza della performance art nel reale indagando l’idea di live nella sua duplice natura – dal vivo e il vivo – dando spazio ai momenti in cui la performance si integra alle dinamiche di vita.
LIVE WORKS si presenta come una vera e propria piattaforma che include: LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award, The Free School of Performance (FSP) e Centrale Fies Performance Art Collection.
Il bando di LIVE WORKS è aperto ad azioni performative emergenti di diversa natura, comprese: media arts, lecture performances, task-performances, text-based performances e multimedia storytelling, pratiche relazionali e progetti workshop-based, flash mob, pratiche aperte all’attivismo e politically engaged, experience design, fashion design e urbanismo relazionale.
Possono partecipare al bando artisti e professionisti di ogni provenienza geografica, singoli o gruppi, con un solo progetto. Al bando sono ammessi solo progetti inediti o di lungo periodo che devono essere sviluppati e/o conclusi e di cui la partecipazione al premio rappresenta un capitolo oil capitolo finale.
I nove progetti, selezionati dai curatori di LIVE WORKS, saranno invitati a partecipare ad una residenza di produzione presso Centrale Fies dal 1 al 10 luglio 2016 durante la quale avranno a disposizione un budget, quest’anno ampliato, fino a € 800,00 per produrre la performance e l’opportunità di partecipare a The Free School of Performance.
I nove finalisti saranno presentati all’interno della 36^ edizione del Festival Drodesera nelle giornate del 25, 26 e 27 luglio 2016. Durante le serate di restituzione una giuria, composta da artisti e direttori di strutture per la ricerca e la produzione artistica, decreterà il vincitore a cui sarà offerto un premio di € 1.000,00 e un ulteriore periodo di residenza presso Centrale Fies.
La giuria di LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award_Vol.4 sarà composta da:

Centrale Fies presents LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award_Vol.4
The fourth edition of the project LIVE WORKS creates a platform dedicated to live contemporary practices that contribute to deepen and broaden the idea of performance, following the current evolution of performance and its styles.
This platform aims to measure the concreteness of performance art in the real world, investigating the double nature of LIVE – in person and alive – and highlighting those moments in which performance integrates with the dynamics of life.
LIVE WORKS is a platform that features LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award, The Free School of Performance (FSP) and Centrale Fies Performance Art Collection. The competition LIVE WORKS Performance Act Award is open to a wide range of emerging performative actions, including: media arts, lecture performances, task performances, text-based performances and multimedia storytelling, relational practices and workshop-based projects, flash mobs, politically engaged and activist project, experience design, fashion design and relational urbanism. The nine projects selected by LIVE WORKS will be invited to participate in a production residency at Centrale Fies from 1st to the 10th July 2016, during which the finalists will be awarded an budget of € 800,00 to produce their performance and the opportunity to participate to The Free School of Performance.
The performances produced will be presented during the 36th edition of the Drodesera Festival of Performing Arts. On this occasion, the nine finalists will be evaluated by a jury who will select the winner. The winning artist will be offered a € 1000,00 prize (net) and the possibility of an additional residency phase at Centrale Fies.
